| Good win for the Wire in a fixture where they were on a hiding to nothing. Bragging rights established, 2 points but more importantly we are starting to look a much better side. Also our recruitment for 2018 looks to have come up with the goods.

This has probably done Roberts the world of good. He was slow to get going early on, and I was worried when he got that early knock, but he grew into the game, and by the end was involved in most things, including tacking, support running, taking on the line as well as directing play.
Wasn't a world beating performance, which is to expected in your second first game back after injury, in a new hemisphere. But if he had any doubts in his own mind about his body and recovery, getting though being targeted and bashed about by Wigan thugs will have actually done him good. He'll kick on over the next few weeks and it'll be fun to watch.

| That shoulder by Chubb was premeditated, nasty, and was so late it was almost posthumous.

| Quote: Saddened! "If that was Wigan at anything like their best this season, you can write them off now. They were pathetic in the first half and only came back into it at the end when Warrington visibly tired. That must be a huge concern for your coach, Wigan were out on their feet when the game started, you dominated and yet they were stronger at the end? Work that out? I suspect that was Wigan at their worst having enjoyed their holiday a little too much.
Warrington were better than they've been previously, but I wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops about that performance. I think a lot of teams would have sliced and diced the Goons tonight, it was there for another Wakefield type scoreline. Had Warrington taken some of the early chances they bombed it could have gone that way. The pack was a lot better for Warrington, but you need to get Clark going again.
I'd say a better team would have demolished Warrington on that performance, but I'm not sure a significantly better side exists in Super League, given how poor the standard is these days. Your backs would have prevented any chance of a trophy in any normal season, but I suspect anyone could win it this year. Who was that winger Brown? Surely you've got players in your academy better than him?'" What were you doing watching us? Wasn't your lot playing away at Huddersfield tonight?

I didn't think it was that bad, yes he targeted patten putting the kicker under pressure. He wasn't that late and I didn't feel it was a shoulder charge or certainly not one that clubb fully committed to, i had no problem with play carrying on once the scuffle had been sorted.

| Saddened is pretty much on the money with his post. The only reason people are upset about it is because he's a Saints fan.
It's like moaning about your partner or your Mum.
You're allowed to do it yourself but if someone else says the same it gets your hackles up.

That made me chuckle.
Last night was really, really positive:
Effort and Desire- not seen as much from our side for over year.
Forwards- first time for a long time I have felt our forwards have a threatening presence.
Defence- excellent bar the last try- it was a reasonably comfortable watch.
Goodwin-looks to be a real find.
New players- all look to have brought something to the table and will only get better (touch wood). BMM-looks the forward running threat we've been missing for years. Sita shown
some great signs already. When Roberts is fully fit and one hard ground could be real game changer.
Attacking structures- there is still work to be done here but there were signs of support players, especially in the first half.
Atmosphere-makes such a positive difference when it's like that.
Steve Price- I like the fact that he shows his frustration and is prepared to break his walkie-talkie-We've needed that for a long Time.
Lastly though, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Ben Currie who I'm a big concerned with regarding his knee. Honourable mention though must go to Ben Flower who could have made that a lot worse, but held back knowing Currie wasn't right.

We weren't out finessed at the end of the game it was simply a shift in momentum when Wigan started chancing their arm, we were 16 0 up and took the foot of. If there was any
Fitness at the end it was probably from losing Currie early doors and Brown with 20 to go.
As for Wigan they were very good vs Hull and so far this season so don't be playing down their quality. We just did really well to contain them.
Regarding Mitch Brown, in one game he gave us exactly what we've been crying out for, stability and sensibility. We can't all have Adam Swift on the wing........
And no, there's no one in the academy.
We're not expecting any trophies this year but in one game there's a glimmer of light that the last few years of mickey poor defence and unstructured attacks could be exiting the club.'"
Adam Swift es all over Mitch Brown, Matty Russell and Tom Lineham which says a lot

| Not sure what I think to that last night.
We dominated but were very poor at the end of sets and should have scored 18-24 points more than we did.
Then come the end we looked knackered and were being dominated ourselves, when they were the ones who’d had a trip to Aus. Extremely disappointed in that last try we allowed from Clubb.
Saying that, the Aus trip might not have had as much of an affect on them as people might think. It may even be next week we see the hangover for Wigan. And it could be that we were very good in dominating them last night. Still poor to let that try in at the end.
Who knows?! Either way I think it’s a game we need to move on from and get our heads on the next game as I think there are too many other factors going around the game to read too much into it.

| I think you are right PC, but it's encouraging that we beat Wigan and still have lots of improvement left to make. It's not as if we won playing out of our skin.
Bloody Atkins though, hands like a cows tits to quote a forum favourite.

Let's be honest- the only thing Adam Swift es over is his toilet's rim- his hand eye coordination is atrocious.

I dont think he's on the money because he always puts that Warrington are rubbish slant in every post be makes. Which is why he stays away in seasons where we have been half decent
Clearly No One expected To see a red hot Wigan. Its 3 games in for them.
Have we not watched leeds peak at the END of the season year after year. ...its a typically stupid Saddened idea that a team facing Warrington in February should be in title winning form.
Yes we looked tired at the end but so what we'd worked hard. Wigan couldn't get out of their own half in the entire first half ...no mean feat.
However some dubious penalties helped to change that in the second half. .....
And then he picks out mitch Brown a player on debut who ran in strong made no errors looked very comfortable and looked to have made A try saver on a guy that normally scores four against us...
It was a vast improvement on last season. ..and we'll take that.
There has been no shouting from roof tops because I think the general consensus is one of disappointment that the margin wasn't bigger. ....
All Saddened lacked was that scouse humour of asking when the open top bus parade is...

| I don't see a huge improvement to come from Saints - they are riding the creast of a Barba inspired wave at the moment, but tougher days will come.
Same with Wigan. They don't have anyone to come back in and what you saw last night was pretty.much what they have. They still rely heavily on SOL and their pack is poor.
Wires, on the other hand have lots of improvement in them, and once certain key players get match fit we should start to rack up the points. Our defensive structure last night was superb though.
