Think we need a bit of reverse psychology were Russell is concerned, if we sing his praises,then he may get dropped, I think it’s just stubbornness by the club because majority no he is crap. And club just don’t want to admit we are right.

For me both refs were poor and easily influenced by the home crowd. Consequently it's difficult foe Warrington to improve the penalty count when they're not justified in the first place. Widnes were either offside for most of the game or their line speed is astonishing and typical of a team of their make up they played a spoiling niggling type of game. Overall I'm pleased with our performance and look forward to next week.

Considering the amount of territory and possession that Widnes had in that game, we did well to stay in front and win. Goal line defence was outstanding if you don’t count the kick defence.

This seems like the sort of resilience we’ve been craving. We were a bit Wigan-Esque. Or maybe Wane-esque. Widnes actually played very well and looked sharp.

I agree but I'm not sure how such an optimistic view will go done on this forum.

I’m feeling much more positive about the season. Have to agree with the general consensus though - Mitch Brown deserves a run ahead of Russell. Sport can be cruel and as much as he trys he is a liability at the moment.

There is no doubt that there has been a major revamp of how we defend. We are hanging back/sagging at times rather than rushing up when under pressure. Definite shift. The players must have had to really think to buy into this.

It's about time our 9 played 80 mins.

Obviously it seems a bit unusual to not play Smith but ... if your best hooker is OK leave him on. If we'd have lost a half-back or the hooker he'd have played big minutes. If we were behind ... he could be on. Unusual but I see no problems.

I'm sure lots of us have played for years and not touched a ref. This maniac has hit the same referee twice within a year. I'm afraid the defence of "his head was up watching a ball" ... is no defence. Ban him.

Which also played testament to our fitness... Price wasn’t worried even with one less sub and 12 men on the field. We do look a different side this year, even if our attack is frankly shambolic. With more possession and territory and a fit Roberts on dry pitches, I think we will come good. Not good enough to win anything but good enough to set us up for a serious push in 2019. Our best bet this year is a lucky cup run, and peaking at the business end.
