Erm...is this the best we can do?
Friggin heck, I think we've had some serious neglect of our local youth recruitment over the decades.

That's a pretty good team and does include around 8 internationals. It would be interesting to compare it with the Widnes,St Helens and Wigan equivalents.

| I suppose Fulton and Helme are as good a halfback theoretical pair as any.
And the outside backs are pretty decent too.
The forwards look to be our downside.

| I always liked Barry Briggs, especially in the spell (late 1960s) before he went to Australia. As well as being a good footballer, he had work rate and aggression in his game. Unfortunately when he returned and played under Murphy, much of that aggression had gone and being no longer good enough for the Wire, he was packed off to Wigan.

I thought the thread, which you started, stipulated Warrington born players.
Jon Wilkin was born in East Yorkshire. Joel Tomkins was born in Warrington.

Correct, WO will 'our' Joel feature on the best or worst Warrington born team? Never been a fan TBH perhaps that's my P&B specs?

| I wouldn't even put Joel Tomkins in the worst Warrington born team.
Anyways...I am trying to put together a team of born and Wire players really.

I don't think Laurie Gilfedder will be eager to playing on the wing. He'll prefer Second Row or Loose Forward.
