| Hi All,
i will post some of the questions asked as i wrote a lot of the answers down. It went from commercials deals for the club to the touchdown club to ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR A MARQUEE PLAYER. Also Expect to see a new main sponsor for next season as i got the impression that the deal fro Emirates which expires at the end of the season will not be renewed or we may not have that choice. What i read into it i wouldn't be surprised to see Amazon on the front due to a new deal being struck with them. All in all the club know the season has been poor and have things in place now behind the scenes to not let this kind of thing happen again. Lets just say Mr Draper spent an awful lot of money for little return and got found out but by then it was too late.

| Hi
I also went tonight. Agree with karetaker and toonwire, I was pleasantly surprised by how well Karl presented himself. I was wondering how this guy ended up in the job but think he deserves a chance.
They said they were still open to extending the deal with Emirates as it expires this season, and had been in Dubai recently to discuss extending it although as mentioned the impression was given that we could have a new name on the shirt next year. Amazon was name dropped so could be on the cards.
Dom Crosby got a mention, he's mentally in a better place now and in contention for a return to the team for the Widnes game.
They still haven't given up on Currie for the year either.
With regard to the marquee player, they made a point about players with a chequered past being given a chance if it fits the club so don't be surprised if we see another Sandow/Barba type over here.

| It went aa far as talking about the type of turf/grass used to try to prevent injury using Ben Currie's injury as an example, as said by wazzawire it was a good and interesting meeting, not sugar coated in the slightest.

| The London fixture was mentioned and they agree its a poor decision, not just for us but for London to as it will obviously effect them knowing Wire have good away following. And this wiil be a lot less.

| Seems strange that we are feared throughout the league because we can buy any players we want when we are languishing in 9th place with a team that has been below par since February. Surely the club & its spokesman are jesting ?

No, i should of been clearer. What it was refering to is the likes of how we have Ratchford Clark, Hill and Currie on long contracts that other clubs do the same with there best players to stop us from getting them. I know some msy say contracts mean nothing these days but that as mostly been the NRL players.

| When the question was asked about the marquee type of player, the bums on seats etc kind of player they are seriously searching all the time, i did ask had we signed Cooper Cronk for next year then. Of course they laughed but i noticed they did not day NO.

Interesting point this asone of the reasons to replace Gatcliffe with Draper was that Gatcliffe was great but at running a tight ship and looking after a business that needed to control expenditure as opposed to grow. Draper was seen as the opposite and seen as what was needed at that time.

| I've seen Gatcliff back at the club quite a bit recently. I have a feeling behind the scenes he is helping Karl fit into his job following fan grumblings.
It seems to be working too.

To be fair to Karl he has done his apprenticeship and now he must deliver on what he has set in terms of clubs objectives. The term Lavish spending was used on things that brought no return in investment to me that is business suicide. Bottom line we can have all the bells and whistles on match day but if what is served on the pitch is not good enough then fan revenue will drop. Big off season for Warrington should we survive and playing Sat games gives us a full 7 days no matter what so the 6 day concussion rule thus void very smart move in my eyes.
Onward and upwards WTID!!!!

The big "currently recruiting" Amazon jobs sign across the steelwork where the sky screen usually goes might be the first indictor. In relation to Emirates, stories I heard were that Emirates wanted the whole lot. and got a little miffed when the stadium got resigned to Halliwell Jones.

Roger mentioned on a couple of occasions he wasn't happy with the sponsorship arrangement for advertising around the ground, in that he didn't like having 100 advert boards with individual ads and companies, he would prefer to go for a bigger deal(if possible) for one company and have that uniform around the ground, clean and consistent.
Thats good if you can get it, its the holy grail, but do you want to off your local business and community associations in favour of the big kahuna?

| I think it would be more difficult to fill the hospitality boxes with hundreds of Emirates guests than to fill boxes sponsored by Maud's Fish & Chips & ACME Safety Pins Ltd. & other local firms.
As for the Cooper Cronk drawing a titter, maybe they thought the marquee name was confused with Cooper,Mike .
