it was clear from the start that wire had not intention to lose this game and I personally thought a lot of tackles was brutal to the point

I must say Dezzie ,i have only seen the Westwood incident as it happened in the stadium ,i haven't got sky sports to be able to review it.

I'll chuck my two pence worth in about Benny.
Should have gone - he had more than enough time to avoid the contact and it was a silly thing to do.
I suspect C-D charge in match review and should get Easter off.

Tremendous display. Great to see the players back and fighting for the result. Hopefully we can really push on from here.

Philbin, Hill, Patton all outstanding.

Westwood should have walked, but he didn't.... That really set the tempo for the rest of the game. We never took a backwards step and dominated Leeds in the tackle.

My opinion on last night.....

Our 1st win = great stuff
The fact that it was Leeds and they were 2nd in the table = great stuff
The act of sheer stupidity from Westwood in the 1st minute of the match that could have lost us the game = ridiculous, deserves whatever ban he gets, penalty machine
Lineham, T King, Patten, Philbin, G King = very good (Patten stand out player, no place for Brown unless Patten/Gidley gets a knock)
Ratchford, Atkins, Russell, Gidley, Hill, Westerman = good, but need to improve ball control, passing accuracy, daft mistakes & penalties (Hill always seems to give away a couple a game)
Clark, Hughes = nothing too spectacular on the night, Clark took a couple of knocks, I don't think Hughes does spectacular
Dwyer, Evans = would rather see Savelio & Julien on the bench, would rather not see Evans at all

All in all, not a result I was expecting, we got the rub of the green with a couple of decisions (amazed that Westwood only got 10 in the bin, even though a nutcase stood near me spent the whole of the 1st half trying to convince anyone that would listen that it was a legitimate challenge and shouldn't have even been a penalty!), and if we keep playing like that we will win more than we lose.

We do need to cut out the silly penalties and look more dangerous with ball in hand in front of the oppositions line, but this is a massive step forward from where we have been in the past few weeks.....Well done Wire!

He took out probably Leeds biggest threat, creative and goalkicker in one hit.

It's unfortunate he couldn't have finished Matty Smith otherwise we'd have won a GF by now.

Tactical biff wins games. Naughty but effective. It's RL answer to getting a touch in the football box and taking a dive.

I very much doubt it was a bit of tactical biff, probably brain fart, so no I don't agree with you on that score. But yes, Singleton was a crucial player to lose as he is a very creative player and Golding is no replacement goal kicker. It also meant they were one short on the bench - and both sides were looking decidedly tired in the last 20 minutes.

Well I said the same thing to Johnnie Lowe last night and he completely agreed with me, he said Murphy would have had Nicko or himself do exactly he same.

Sorry, you can't condone Benny's hit. It's the thin end of the wedge if we allow that, the games moved on from that being acceptable (if it ever was). That wasn't 'biff' it was a late shoulder that could have caused serious harm.

Having looked at the late hit. I can see a ban forthcoming. If anything due to ben's priors.
Know I said I mentioned evans' two ball touches in 20 minutes last night, but if he was dropped due to poor form but retained as back up or cover, why couldn't Julien play instead, he seems to be doing really well in reserves and deserves the opportunity.

Imo it was a deliberate strike to the head !! On the replays you. An awe a minute adjustment to ensure he cleans him out. I'm all for physical tough hard hitting rugby however that challenge doesn't fall into that category. Wether he was told to do it or was just a very poor attempt at a big hit I'm not sure but I'm in agreement that it certainly affected the game in our favour.

What i've heard this morning is that the Westwood incident was bad ,but not having sky i doubt if i will ever see it unless it is featured on superleague show.I just saw it once in real time at the match. What did Sims do,i didn't even see the ref put him on report ?
