| I wonder why Cox only had a short spell even though he seemed pretty effective whilst he was on the pitch?

With us being the better side these days, we are licking our lips at inflicting more misery on Wire in the coming derby. I expect a fairly straight forward win.[/quote:1d72a5qw][b:1d72a5qw]Wire 44 - 6 Widnes[/b:1d72a5qw]

He may have been one of the mentioned who wasn't fit to run yesterday, and flooring Wilkin may have had (worthy) consequences.

| Bit of a bitter/sweet win.. Always good to win at a Saints and look comfortable doing it ,but I think we could have had more points and it was disappointing not to keep them to Nil

| I'm a bit worried about the number of walking wounded we're having to play week in week out. I suspect there are a number of teams in the same position but I hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the business end of the season. Hopefully we can get Dodds and Hughes back at roughly the same time - that would allow us to rest Hill and Currie occasionally.
I suppose another issue this year is that it's difficult to see a game where you could get away with resting a key player. Even though Leeds and Huddesfield are at the bottom of the table, both of them have plenty of good players and aren't necessarily cannon feeder (Leeds last week notwithstanding).

| So far born again Bailey has been a revelation & what a different player he is when not being a wind up merchant, can't wait to see his name on the Nobel peace prize. There were some good performances out there last night & it is good to see the club's enforced youth policy of the last few seasons is bearing fruit.
I would love to see Cunningham succeed at Saints though because the club runs through his veins & i'm sure the result would have been much closer with him on the pitch ,but great players don't always make great coaches.

Did very well missing some very important forwards. Missed Sims quick play the balls too.'"
very true especially the kick to touch which hit the touchline, have i imagined it but in previous games some decisions have been reversed when shown on the screen,if so why was the scrum in our half not theres..also did the sky team mention our injury list at any time like they did with wigan and leeds.as regards to the match we won with out getting in to top gear..saints can be thankful for that..

In addition although the action was at our end in the first half I never felt like we were going to concede points a combination of great defence and a woeful Saints performance happy days.
I agree with an FMC post somewhere on these boards that the delay for the injury took a bit of momentum away from us and possibly saved Saints from a defeat of bigger margins

| Watching the game back this morning and it would seem, according to Eddie, that we will never have a better chance to become champions. Not because of Hill, Currie, Gidley, Sandow, etc, but because almost everyone else this year is crap (or words to that effect). We must play different opponents to everyone else in the league as I haven't heard him mention that when talking up Hull or wigan.

I'd like to see somebody succeed at sabotage, kind of what is happening at the minute really.

| Quite apposite, regarding the events of this morning.
Last night's first half performance was almost [irope-a-dopelike[/i. Let Stains put loads of pressure on our line, then...bang. Repeat this twice more, and the fight just sapped out of Stains.
To be honest, I couldn't care less that we didn't put them to the sword. We just kept them at arms length, without even getting into 4th gear, let alone 5th. That's all we needed to do. No need for a cricket score, or a nilling. Let's leave that for the kids playing Top Trumps. Stains knew they were thrashed.
Job done.

| Yes the score flattered Saints. They were well and truly battered in all aspects.
What likely kept the score lower was the adoption of early tackle Sandow kicks. Around had a dozen on the third tackle and a one or two from Ratchford when Sandow dissappeared (more game management).
A very unusual tactic from a Wire team.
We purposesly gifted Saints so much early possession and invited them into a battle of attrition.
KC wrongly understanding what his "lions share of possession" really meant.

| I thought that was a very NRL esque performance.
Defend well, quick line speed with 3 sometimes 4 in every tackle, basic exit sets, slowing the game down when in control. Very very professional performance, something i think we should more often.
