Julien has been playing centre although he can play prop. But yes, it is still looking thin - we need another out and out Troll.

Hill - he is what he is
Dodds - probably have those first year issues, hope he doesn't but he's unknown
Sims - for me not a prop more of a mobile Trent Waterhouse
Harrison - as mobile as an oil tanker, great defensively but injuries could play a part
Westwood - not sure a move up front would suit, but maybe a short term filler

These guys are young lads and learning their trade and not for weekly combat in SL
Evans
King
Julien
Philbin - as he matures he will be a prop
and possibly Murray.

Overall we are extremely light in the front row, therefore a prop is a must

Got to agree another prop needs to be signed to replace England, surely we must have one lined up, England out of the championship and still in SL the very best of luck to the lad.

From what little I've seen of Murray he looks to have some ability but a few years off a regular first team spot.

We needed a prop whether England stayed or not, he simply wasn't at our level.
Just hoarding attic stock. He'd never get a game.

Are we filling from the top again now?

Myler out, Sandow in
O'Brien out, Gidley in
Monaghan out, Lineham in
Asotasi out, Dodds in
Grix out, Hughes in

Much difference?

Had England stayed he would have probably got a game at some point due to the lack of numbers and being paid, ask Roy, for whatever reason it didn't work out for England.

As for our level well it's not very high at the moment is it so if you are saying we need to aim higher I agree with you 100%, I would also go along with you we needed a prop regardless so perhaps two new props to come.

Appreciable difference. Sandow has a kicking game, Myler's kicking game was generally poor, especially the longer version. Gidley is an organiser, GOB tended to disappear at times. Lineham and Monaghan are both try scorers, but there's a big age difference. Dodds will most probably give us a lot more game time than Roy. Finally the biggest difference is that we started last season a player short with Grix being injured. A fully fit Jack Hughes should put that one right.
Two more to come and Wheeler to leave in my opinion.

I wouldn't think so, Tony Smith reckons he is good enough to get game time, but a regular spot? Smith is also on record as saying we have numbers to cover the three quarters perhaps he could be one, an interesting signing looking forward to see how he goes.

the squad is still looking a little, unbalanced...awkward maybe? Pre season will be very interesting this year.

True I don't think we have the depth as yet of course some of the younger ones could step up, we wouldn't need a injury crisis like this year just a couple in crucial positions and we would struggle again.

A few months ago the club had nothing to offer a few of the U19s hence most have gone elsewhere but the introduction of U23s has given an option albeit only on part-time contracts for some. Deserves a chance tbh he has been excellent this year.
