Quote: Dug Out "Warrington can thank Dwyer,Ratchford and Penny for that win with three individual moments of quality early in the second half.
What did Myler contribute to the win, apart from making the numbers equal ?'"

Ratchford? I'm not digging that one Dug he had a shocker and might have contributed a bit in our attack, but, unfortunately also contributed in Leigh's

Well I think we went alright. As another poster said, Leigh are virtually a super league team. Our defence is still mightily worrying but I felt the enthusiasm and go forward was much stronger than it has been, perhaps Leigh tired but their enthusiasm was still there throughout, fair play to them.

Glad to see that Sims seems to be taking charge on the pitch now, bit late 20 games in but nonetheless good to see someone using their mouth. I actually thought Clark and Asotasi went well today. Roy seemed to have an electrified rod up his at the start of that second half. Penny as usual went well, do not know why we dropped him, absolutely brilliant try.

Still some idiotic offloads and needless running people off the ball but overall considering we played with 17 men for 40 minutes and 16 men for 10 minutes we weren't poor per se.

With due respect to Leigh this win is just papering over the cracks. The Pies will run riot with defence as bad as ours.

It didn't paper over the cracks. They are all too visible. Once again TS playing the injury card.
Penny doing more for Agar this season than anyone by crediting his aerial try to his coaching.

2nd half you guys 'really' stepped it up, really impressed with Dwyer when he came on.....what's happened to Daryl Clark ? 1st half Wire were ordinary/poor, 1st 20 minutes of the 2nd half, you were so much better than us, even when you had 12 men for 10 min, you looked the more dangerous side. You've got a cracking pack, but some of your backs ain't what they used to be. Enjoyed today, only lost to Warrington away by 10 points !
Good luck in the Semi's....guess you want Leeds, you've beaten them twice already this season ! icon_biggrin.gif

Very relieved to get through, Dwyer was excellent, he has been great since coming back to the club. It is worrying though that whenever a team gets within our 20m they score.

Leigh were a credit to their town today the try they scored at the end of the first half was fantastic. I'm not sure we could have scored one like that with our current personnel.

Anyway, we're in the hat and that's the main thing!

Very enjoyable game today & i can imagine Leigh giving superleague a good go providing they get in & if they can keep the same team . I am very pleased Mickey Higham didn't play or the result would probably have been different. I thought the pitch looked immaculate btw.

Wasn't impressed by Wilkin and his antics in commentary. I hope Jiffy jumps up and down with joy when Widnes scores.

Certainly a case of "if only" on a few occasions, and we deserve huge credit to score only one try less than a side of Warrington's quality, but I think the better side won (just about). Penny has taken some stick in the past, especially when he played against us for Swinton, but that try in the corner was world class and more than worthy of winning any game.

Still, I'm sure the players will have enjoyed playing on the big stage and will be hungry for more, as will the fans.

Tremendous atmosphere and I'm sat here thoroughly proud to be a Leyther.

I thought we were absolutely awful for pretty much the whole of the first half. Then excellent for 25 minutes to start the second half then took our foot off the gas for the last 15.

I thought Leigh scored some very high quality tries but outside those flashes were a poor side. Couldn't do anything against twelve men for ten minutes where if they were going to win they had to get something going right there and they shrunk under the pressure to do it. Emmit was a ing joke, all he did was flubber around trying to slow the game down to his fat pace.

Leigh looked unfit for a full time team. I think all of their forwards were carrying too much fat. I'm critical of our fitness levels but I thought Leigh looked way off even us in that second half.

Some of our tries were very good too but yet again our precision and cohesion in attack was mostly poor and some of our defending was still very poor.

All that being said, it was a thoroughly entertaining cup tie and you have to remember Leigh are only a Championship side. So for that level they were impressive considering.
