| Joel just has no pace anymore.
Hill was mom on the ground.

| Awful, but effective. 2 points were vital tonight.
Just a few thoughts,
Ormsby dreadful for that last Cats try. If that was Penny, blood pressure would be astronomical amongst some.
Atkins. 3 tries in a week does not make you Gene Miles. You're still a lazy mother......
Halfs tonight were poor
Great from Hill
Intermittent from Clark
Naughty (again) from Westwood with that tackle. Probably cop a ban, for that.
Some good showing from England
Laithwaite is our new Mitchell (circa 2010 ish). Looks OK, but not going to get any better.
Dwyer looked good
An unused Australian prop....QANTAS are offering a one way ticket from Manchester on Sunday, for less than £700.....I'm sure we can organise a whip-round. We Warrington folk can be very generous.

| Love coming on the match thread after a game and reading back over the doom cloud posts on here. Some absolute crap written. How some are able to criticise Harrison and GOB tonight are beyond me. As well as the lunatic who wants to offload Currie. As well as Laithwaite who is probably our best defensive player bar Westwood. Gave me a laugh though.

I didnt know they were on. They did more than enough today, our defense as a team is lacking but go forward non of them did much wrong. I'm not an idiot, just the crying on here is laughable at times.

| Currie has now finally returned to the form he had before the virus took hold.
He may not be our 1st marquee signing, but I think he will our 1st club trained marquee by the time his contract is next up for review.
His performance tonight will almost certainly get him an England call up.

obrien is no where near the standard that we need..harrison i do like but was quiet tonight..clark and myler should be doing alot better,,currie was m.o.m for me..it was never intended as to make you an idiot (that tag fits a few on here tho)but the frustration on here is very understandable when certain players are not performing

Wouldn't say crying more frustration at the inconsistency of this team + some players for that matter.Just my opinion by the way but O'Brien isn't our answer. He'll probably get a few more games but he's showing more than Clark I'll give him that.Mind you who's not?

Go on then, I'll bite
O'Brien beyond criticism tonight?
Love me,
His first touch of the ball goes "out on the full" !!!!!!! Muppetry of the highest order.
Various "fluff ups" in the first half
Loads of pressure on the Cats line in the first half (as proved by the PTB graphic on Sky), and all he does is pass the ball. Nothing else. No vision. No thinking ahead. Just get the ball and get rid. For what we need him to be, he simply doesn't fit the bill.
I've said this COUNTLESS times before. O'Brien is 24.....yes, that's right, 24. He's not "still learning". He should have learned by now. He's at Wakey/Cas/HKR level, and no more (apologies to any of their fans who may have strayed onto this site). Time to go lad. You're not good enough for a team who've been challenging for honours in the last few years.

| Christ almighty, O' Brien and Harrison stunk the place out today. I'm a big Harrison fan by the way but his error count was three bare minimum. O' Brien just doesn't have it, I'm sorry. Not up to scratch I'm afraid and he's had plenty of time. Give him a year out on loan at a lower SL team as a last chance saloon but if it doesn't happen there he should be gone. Kicking the ball out on the full with your first touch in about two months? Nice way to make an impression. Atkins (not going to bother giving the ball to Gene then?) and Ratchford (carry the peeing ball properly) were both disappointing. Atkins seems to be disappointing more often than not though. Think Myler's made a decent impression since he came back from injury but I can't remember him doing anything all night.
Dwyer and Currie were the bright spots (as well as the return of two pint pots, all hail the new chief exec). Ben Currie looks back on track to being the player we all thought he could be when he first broke through, the lad has it all. He could go to the very top. As said, Dwyer showed Clark up again. I thought Clark did ok though not quite Man of Steel territory. Hill was obviously very good as usual.
Overall, pretty poor but we got the result. What worries me most is that rather than us failing due to the ball not sticking etc. as it has quite often been when we've played badly under Smith's tenure it's increasingly the case is that we just do all the basics really badly. There was a spell in the first half when we had about five sets back to back in the Catalan half through sheer dumb luck and we still couldn't do anything. There's been a lot of negativity on here over the course of this season but I've tried to wait and see if we come good rather than work myself into a frenzy, but tonight I'm just not sure.

| Our backs v Saints were 2nd best to a average stand off playing scrum half and a backrower playing standoff. As for tonight, thank god Carney wasn't playing. To think Catalan only got back on Monday. Barely enough time for them to have a shaat, shave and a training session before getting no lay in this morning to comeback to the uk.
On that form we will be beaten at Huddersfield and it could be embarrassing.

GHF your bang on with all but one of your points....your way off with your stance on Currie.. ..(IMO)
I'm not a fan of Currie because of his "hiding". He has pace to burn, he has good feet, and good hands (Hello Halfback??) but in my very own opinion, he doesn't have it as an honest second row. Harrison put some serious shots on in defence today some real bone crunchers. Early on in the game i thought it was going to be a real marker for the game...sadly no one else bothered.
Westwood; his number of carries was frightening. But I doubt the official Sl stats will reflect this, but I thought Westwood was immense.
As I mentioned from my earlier post Currie in the first half had FOUR carries that yielded one hospital pass (and turned over possession), two 'tackled in possession' and one great angled run for one try. it was similar in the second half, again he gave out one hospital pass that turned over possession, he was tackled three times and managed one offload and finished off a great try. his work rate was poor. it is no surprise he had the energy to show the pace to leg it down the wing like he did because Westwood was doing the grunt of two men.
other than Westwood Hill and Bridge (excusing one brain fart when the game was won) I'm so dissapointed in the team....
I'm staying up for the re-run of the game at 1:00 am to see if it looks any better on telly...

| My impression of the game was that ,although we still came up with the obligatory handling errors due to rushed plays & once more nearly managed to be the architects of our own downfall, we seemed to be showing a flair & freedom that has been missing since February 2014. There were some good performances out there tonight ,but is it because the team have collectively decided their performances have been below par, or has someone had a right royal boot up the behind ?

| The Times report this am uses a word that has summed us up all season - "leaden footed". Where has the energy and flair gone? Are they being overtrained?
