| Quote: Alan "He's behaved impeccably in his games for us at Leigh. Mind you, his two appearances have only lasted about 50 minutes in total, and he looked pretty unfit.'"
In his games he may of done but at present he isn't behaving himself.

| If this is true, then it's a major blow.
Michael Monaghan enjoyed an indian summer last year but that seems to have clouded some peoples judgement; the fact is Higham carried us through a period when Monas was injured, hugely ineffective and a shadow of his former self. I've seen nothing so far this season that suggests we can afford to let him go early.
If he does go then, get Dwyer back sharpish. All this talk of Myler to 9 is sticking plaster stuff, and comes from the same mindset that suggests Ryan Atkins will magically morph into Gorden Tallis if we shunt him into the pack. Dwyer has earned his chance, done his apprenticeship and should get an opportunity.
As for Hock, my faith in the support of this club takes a battering when I hear people suggest Hock will bring anything other than dissarray, disruption, indiscipline and poetry readings to the dressing room. He's got more baggage than Manchester Airport, is now injury-prone, aging and hardly mellowing with age either.
If we want shock value I'd rather dye big Roy's beard pink and re-launch the starlites with him as star turn.

| Always willing to be proved wrong but I see no way in a million years we would sign Hock. Smith is big on role modelling - that is part of the reason for signing Gidley. Hock is probably the worst role model playing the professional game.
In terms of Higham, I think his game has improved out of sight over the last couple of seasons from when he arrived as a very one-dimensional player. To allow him to go on loan at this point in the season given our lack of leadership in pivot positions and our other hooker being injured would be difficult to understand unless Smith wants to use the remainder of this season to provide experience to the likes of Dwyer and Patton.

| Sad day as this seems to be true, but no were near as sad the day will be if we do sign Hock, I echo other comments, and I would rather lose blooding our youngsters, than win with this THUG in the team!

| I heard a rumour that Joel is going to link up with his brother at Catalan next year. He is still under contract, the rumour i got was we were getting Scott Dureau and Mike Oldfield in exchange????
Anything on this or is this just wishful thinking?

| Dureau would be nice (despite having frequent, and long, injury issues the last few years). I remain pessimistic.

| Can't see use going in for them.
Oldfield I like but we've bagged Lineham for the right edge, and were not short on wingers either.
A ruddy big strong centre we're in need of and an enforcer prop.
If we're are not going to get either Bridge or Ratchford in the halves we'll need a bloody good hb too.

| Tom Lineham would be a good signing but at 200K? Very overpriced if that is what we have to pay. He is a big lad though and has pace to burn, something which, bar Penny, we lack in the 3/4s.
Heard about the Higham story before and I'd be pretty shocked to be honest if it goes through. Yes, I can see him leaving at end of the year but mid season, leaving us with only one hooker for rest of the year??!! Be a bit daft to let him leave on loan and leave ourselves short. At the end of the day, he is a Warrington player at present so get on with it until end of the year. It would also surprise me as Higham has a great relationship with the fans so for him to just up and leave during the season would be strange..
With regards to Hock, to see our club even linked with that King Street Hooligan is a disgrace. He is a total liability and his best years are well behind him. If we signed him, then, we are going backwards rather than forwards and a lot of our fans would not entertain him. I know I wouldn't!!
If these rumours about Higham immediately leaving are not true, then someone from the club should come out and quell them.
My last word...
AVOID HOCK AT ALL COSTS!!!

| The situation in a nutshell - Micky has been offered a new contract with Warrington for next season but on far less money than he currently earns. Micky is not happy about the offer and is upset that Tony Smith thinks so little of him. He has asked to leave straight away as he has been offered a two and a half year deal with Leigh on more money than he is currently earning. Warrington have said he can leave but they want a transfer fee of £120,000. Deal scuppered.

| I'd say he's got another season in him after this one, it'd be perfect if he stayed and gave Dwyer a bit more time to develop into a regular. Sadly all the noises say he is for the exit, if not straight away then definitely at the end of the year.
