Shaun Wane is very quick to slate his team after a bad performance, yet I get the impression every one of them would jump in front of a bus for him.

| Smith needs to act on what he sees. If not he ought to go , and bring Moz in.

| A resounding stay. We gave Cullen years without 3 CC and a League Leaders shield in 4 years.

| If Smith goes Agar will be head coach, that's pretty much guaranteed. He will have till the end of the season and probably start next year and if we are not doing too well Agar would be jettisoned at that point.
Question is who to come in after that.
Who do you think would be the next coach that would be an improvement on Tony Smith?
Noble is the only credible contender for me, although given Salford's bright start Iestyn Harris' star is rising. Powell, Anderson, Harris and Betts are the most impressive of the upcoming English coaches, but Powell and Anderson are less likely to leave their clubs.

| I've always like John Kear.
And NZ boss Kearney.

I'm surprised that you haven't sacked Agar already. He's done nothing with Hull or Wakefield, and seems to be working wonders with you.

There's one thing for sure, I wouldn't want any other coach other than TS to steer us 'round this lull. Sh@t happens but form is temporary and class is permanent and TS will sort it out. I'm looking forward to putting a wager on a Wire when oddschecker odds go down, ala the guy who posted recently about a 14/1 bet on Leeds when they were in a similar situation to us before winning the Gf.'"
I love your optimism. We need more fans like you.

| If things remain the same the buck will stop with Smith It's his team he chose Agar as assistant, IF the players have an issue with Agar then they will have an issue with Smith, the issue is they are so called professional players so there's a new broom get on with it.
Smith will not do a Waney but he is alluding to some players not being there yet, he must know he has problems as most players are not doing it for him, has he got it in him to do what is needed, I feel the main problem is leadership.

| If there's one coach in Rugby League that can turn this dross around it's Tony Smith.
A resounding "stay" from me.
It's Agar to go for me. He could only put the cones out at training and I'd still want him out. He's clearly cursed.

| On Richard Agar....When in the history of rugby league has it been an assistant coaches fault that a team plays poor and he had been sacked while the coach stays on....
I know Sean long left Salford but he resigned when Noble came in....Which everyone expected would happen. And he left Wigan after a few months but he was coaching the kids if I remember correctly. ( Be interesting to see if saints fans rip into Long if they lose another on the bounce. ..)
Other than that i can't recall any blame being pined on an assistant...
Hull fans weren't that vocal when Agar was assistant in an challenge cup win and a grand final appearance. He may in fact be a Sammy Lee... A very good assistant just a first team coach. Two completely different roles.

| Thing what gets me though is if people are saying that Smith takes a back seat to coaching and focuses on the tactical/technical side of things, then why is he known as "Director or Coaching & Rugby"? Shouldn't it be in the Rugby Union mould whereby he is "Director of Rugby" and Agar will be "Head Coach" because he's the primary coaching figure, yet it's the DOR that gives the pre/post match interviews.....
