Quote: Winslade's Offload "It's true that Clark has not been at his best at Wire, but is it all down to him ? I am not so sure. He thrives when we get a quick ptb and / or disruption around the ptb. He also does well when there are dummy runners around the ptb causing confusion and that split second hesitation that gives him the space to make a break. Tonight I would argue that Leeds were half a yard too slow for most of the match. That created space for both Clark and other Wire players to exploit the gaps.'"

Spot on WO.
This year the opposition knows what to expect from Clark, so he's a marked man and actually I don't think there have been too many occassions where he's had the space to do what he does best.
His defence has been good but he's just not been much of an attacking threat - or at least not at the level we all hoped for / expected.
Strangely our pack has not been so dominant so I do think that has got a lot to do with it.

Pleased for the guy and hope he can kick on from here.

Sims - he played well tonight and if the opposition target him it leaves it open for Hill to make more yards on the next drive. Keep it up!

Clarke just needs quick PTB and an unset defence to run at and he will do the best. This was shown in his break against Leeds.

Quote: WireFanatic III "He's not even mentioned last nights game, too busy chatting about how football is ripping off the fans.

So when Clark plays crap he gets abused by him, when he plays well he doesn't even mention it. Sounds about right for the guys mentality.'"

Wow what a deluded fool you are. If you want to live in cloud cuckoo land and think everything in the Warrington world is perfect then enjoy it.

He's had one decent game

And the team has won 2 in 7, the form of champions? Hardly.

When there's a level of consistency in Clark and the team then I'll concede something.

Don't understand the logic in comments like this? Wouldn't every playing hooker in the game including yourself thrive against an unset defence and quick play the balls? I agree he had a great game on Friday night and gave us more of an insight into his skill set but I would be massively disappointed if we had bought last years MOS and he can only perform to a quality standard in the certain scenarios you suggest.

I think Sims has been good for wire, most overseas player take a season to settle in(King, Monaghan), Sims has put in some good performances, and will get better. When you pay big bucks you for players you want them to perform in the big games at the business end of the season, I think we should judge then. Clarke he`s only 22, I think T.S has been holding him back, and again if this enables him to produces at the right time there will be a lot of people eating humble pie.

I think that after tearing teams apart last year, many coaches and teams have got wise to his style of play. He hasn't been as effective this year partly because either we're not winning the collision enough to give quick ptb or partly because they know how dangerous he is (or can be so) often put a 3rd marker closer to - but 10m behind - the 2 markers.
There is a lot more to his game. He's deceptively big and strong and takes some putting down, and has got good defence.
Last year he was one of the best players in the comp. This year it's not quite clicking.
I tend to think we'd be in a better position if we had a fit Monas, but that's because he was a superb organizer and a very intelligent player. And it's more a reflection on what the team need at this moment rather than a comment on Clark.
Clark wasn't brought in as a top line organizer, but that could well develop in his game as he's still only a young guy.
