You start the game with a fill British 13 and have Joel Roy and Sim on the bench. Bring them on shortly after. Any disadvantage would be so marginal as to make little difference, but the sky team will be aware of it as in the previous times we did it and make reference. Giving us some bragging rights should we win.

The success of this venture will be determined by how successful all the clubs involved & the RFL/NRL want it to be. If it is just going to be a sham series of friendlies the public need to know ,but if the plan is for full on matches the RFL need to get the marketing done well beforehand to attract fans from surrounding areas to the host clubs & maybe even some of the casual fans who graced last years World Cup. If it is marketed properly it could be a successful series financially & anothe great showcase for the game.

The obstacles i can see though are the upcoming 4 nations tournament & the need to get players rehabilitated regards injuries before the new season is here & also ,as has been mentioned previously, what stage of fitness do the coaches want their players to be at so early in the season . For it to work properly it really needs to happen a few weeks into the season when all the teams are up & running.

It wasnt league table position. It was based on the play-off. Afterall........................league table is irrelevant in SuperLeague. Catalan would argue they got further in the comp them Huddersfield by knocking them out. Warrington can argue they got further than castleford.

The biggest issues appears to be that the "terminology" was clear at the start.

Just to clarify - I'm not against the idea of these fixtures, I was simply pointing out to the poster who wanted to see some blood-and-thunder epic that it was very unlikely to happen.

The Aussie sides will not come here for a pre season friendly and play all out. Neither will we for that matter.

It will basically be an exhibition match.... Whether it will be an exhibition match worth watching is another thing entirely. The novelty of the whole thing will guarantee a decent turnout and if the Aussie sides turn up with the majority of their first choice squads, then even a knockabout between the two sides will probably be a better standard than half of the normal fare that Super League serves up during a regular season.
