| Ben Harrison was outstanding last night, he really is developing into a formidable player and is still only 26 so has got his peak years yet to come. I cant think of many players at the moment that would keep him out of the England 17 on current form. Lets hope he can continue and not pick up any nasty injuries, a habit he seems to be accustomed to sadly.

| Quote: Asgardian13 "Ratchfod never proved that he was going to be fullback, He was given the No 6 jersy for obvious reasons. Russel has had a good season at No 1, and moving him to the wing would mean dropping J Monas or Rhys Evans! Ratchford seemed to enjoy the space he got at centre yesterday so I'd play him there again, assuming that Bridge gets asked to play at 6 again when he returns.'"
I was one that thought that Ratchford was going to be our long term full back and was disappointed when he was started to just be used as a utility back.
Russell, however, has really impressed me. More and more as the season's progressed in fact. I think he's only had one poor game (Leeds CC semi) in the second half of the season.
Ratchford was excellent last night, having him at centre with JMonaghan outside him looked an excellent right edge. And I've always been least impressed with him at C. A one-off or a future cemented role?

I really like Harrison. I was a forward when I played the game for a short time as a young adult, my favourite players are always in the pack, so maybe I am a little bias. But whenever he's had a run free from injury, he's always a stand-out player. He was egging in the Enlgand side four years ago but he has had season-on-season with constant severe injuries, (hasn't he had a knee reconstruction?). But another one, who in the second half of this season has been spot on!

Hmmm, Big Roy talks about differences in playing styles being hard to get used to, we stop throwing it around willy nilly and he has a good game. Hmmm.....

| A couple of years ago, someone put a thread on here "Your 10 favourite Wire memories"
(Now, I didn't go, I had a letter from Matron, and watched it in a drinking establishment). I think I have to include last night's efforts.
The amount of dummies we threw, was great, we even had dummy runners, which haven't been that evident, recently.
At one stage, it looked like we had 3 Chris Hills on the pitch. HE WAS EVERYWHERE.
Superb, Wire
Let's back it up, with an unbeaten end to the season.
C'mon

| The playoffs are the time to play how we played last night, if we do the same against Wigan next week and it works again, we should stick to it.

| I doubt very much Pies will be gifting us as much ball as Saints did, unforced or not.
We need a more clinical performance like we did v leeds at home and v Saints at magic.
That was playoff intensity from us.

| Clinical? We had 90% set completion?
And Saints coughed up so much ball because our line speed was so good and contact was solid all game.

| Well done Wire, you were in a different class to us. I think we were exceptionally poor but I think Warrington would beat any team with the sort of form and quality showed last night..
Even if we had been at our best you would still have won comfortably.
Now if we had had Wilkin, Lomax and Walsh back then..........

| No-one should be tempted to overplay the "St Helens were woeful" line. Yes, they were but Warrington's sheer tenacity and billigerent refusal to wilt meant we seized the initiative. Once we did so, and Saints had to come looking for a performance, a result and a response they failed because they we were superior in every aspect. Look hard enough and you'll always find something to justify coming second half but being dignified and admitting you were outplayed is the most admirable response.
Incidentally, Saints would have conceded at least one less try (Mick Monas) if they'd policed the PTB better rather than rushing forward like housewives at opening day of the January sales to try and achieve, ahem, good defensive "line speed".
Based on Wigan tonight, and next weeks match, we have three factors to negate; the baying Wigan public, any weak referreeing influenced by the former and any over-confidence as a result of last night.

| The thing with us though Morrissey is, as Wellens alluded we are so off the cuff that even we don't know what we are going to do. That is tough to prepare against, the only thing we need to do is not let Wigan dominate the ruck, do that and we're half way there.

| We'll also be up against their fans next week. As long as we milk a few penalties from their cheap tactics to slow down the ptb we should be alright.

| I was thinking that our guys need to try their best to look like they are trying to get up and that Wigan are holding us down.
Can't wait until we introduce 2 refs.

| Yeah it works well in the NRL.
As long as we get an alright ref, who isn't afraid to penalise Wigan for their cheap tactics, we should just overreact to their holding down to get some penalties to stop it. MMonas is good at that, so let's hope he's on his game.

In all my time of going the the jjb or dw I've never known the Pies fans to out do us in the vocal department.
I remember one time during the Cullen era they tried to drown us out with the tannoy system....we just chanted louder and longer and stayed about 20-30 mins after the game finished!!!
