| he is raging.... he has spent all this money and he thought it was a simple case of 'throw a load of cash at the team and happy days'
42-6 loss at wakefield and 3rd from bottom of the table.
I reckon he must be fairly close to relalising he has bought a non entity of a club.
he should have taken his time, weighed up his options and bought a proper club with a fan base and a future.

| Vossy tweeted
@AndrewVossy: @drmarwanK appreciate the honesty, but in my honest opinion this sort of tweet would not necessarily be well received from an NRL club owner.

| A polite warning about his ambition to buy the Newcastle Knights I think.

The problem isn't Salford the club, the problem is the way Koukash behaves.
If Simon Moran had been a Salford fan (a scary thought) he would have made Salford a trophy winning club.

The problem with this sort of tweet is it's an appeal to get the fans on his side after a defeat, with an implied promise "I will sort it out". You can only use it a few times.
Say Salford have at least 7 or 8 poop performances a season (and that's a generous estimate!) is he going to keep saying "we are poop and unacceptable" every time....? How long before it wears thin? Especially with their supporters who aren't the easiest to blag.

correct...as can be seen on the wigan forum now, they are finally getting a bit tired of Shaun Wane reeling out the "not a wigan performance" "not acceptable" "below our standards" etc. etc.
he's used it so many times, it leaves the fans at a loss as to what he can do to turn it around into a win.
Tony smith may say we were "out enthused" or "we made too many errors" or "we played panic rugby" but he never trots out the same line time after time when we get beat.
Iestyn Harris is also dangerously close to becoming like Wane (and Koukash) in the "i'm very angry with this loss" "not to our standards" tagline after every defeat.....

| ...but, these are all just clichés for "we played crap"
Tony Smith has a little more nous than your stereotypical Northerner, so he won't go to Harris' or Wane's level. Smith will simply word it better.
back on track...
There's a part of me that hopes the good Doctor will never leave.
He's the gift that keeps on giving.
Salford fluff up, and he'll have a rant, giving it the usual stuff, saying it'll never happen again. They do the same a month later, and he's peddling out the same old guff.
The more level headed Salford fans (well, certainly not ones from The Shed), must grimace every time he,
a) gets his laptop out, or
b) has a microphone thrust in front of him,
He's the RL equivalent of Dad dancing

| Aaah yes, Dr Noclass. I was wondering when his wife would reset his password and let him loose on the digital community again.
Back when Tony Barrow was boss, I used to sometimes quite enjoy defeat because old Tone would come onto GMR and give a post-match interview sprinkled with the kind of comedic pathos that endeared Tony Hancock to the nation.
"I think I'm talking russian to them"
"If they want to chuck it around like that they can go and join the harlem globetrotters"
Fast forward 30 years and I crave a Salford defeat in order to enjoy the outpourings from Planet Irrelavent. At least Tony had a). charm b). history and c). success on his side.

This ultimately is what it comes down to. If fans are getting upset about what the coach says in his press conferences, its basically because there are a few too many defeats for their liking.
Arsene Wenger 10 years ago:
"We want to play football the right way...."
"We want to build a culture of players that have grown up in the club and understand my philosophy..."
"I won't spend money just for sake of spending, if it does not bring someone in that adds more quality than we already have at the club"
When Arsenal were going through a season unbeatable that just makes you think what a guy, someone who actually understands football for the long term not a cheap fix chequebook charlie.
Today when he says those things it doesn't sound so great.

| When your coach/owner criticises the team it makes me cringe to hear these sweeping, generalised cliches.
So much better to hear a considered response to exactly why a team lost (for instance, edge defence or marker defence) and how the coach will address it.

| According to sportinglife the good doctor has started a strict new regime from today ,following Salford's loss to Wakey. Any one not up to the job, irrespective of reputation, will be shipped out ,but he doesn't say who will come into replace the poor unfortunates.
