I find it interesting that these rivals change dependent upon the league position. When Wigan were rubbish I still wanted to hammer them further into the ground. Come that critical part of the season where they were at risk of relegation I still checked out their score to see if they were going down.

The question is a bit stupid really because your biggest rivals are whoever is standing in your way of achieving some silverware(not that we'll be having that problem for a while!). If the question is who do you hate the most, or who do you want to beat more than anyone then the answer is widnes. I started watching in the late 80s and even though widnes were a decent side wigan were the dominant force. Even then our true derby was widnes and it was the game that created the most passion amongst supporters.
