You must have seen them? They either have a finger sticking out to indicate number 1 or a thumb sticking up. I can't say nothing to be fair. My daughter made me buy her one for Wembley the other year.

No it shouldn't. we should take a lead from RU and make it where it was kicked from. That would stop it.

Pet hates.
When returning a deep kick, the fullback wastes valuable time and allows the chasing team team to gain valuable yards by passing the ball to the winger to let him return.
It losses yards, fools nobody and winds me up!'"
There aare sound coaching reasons for this. Firstly, the ball is being carried into the centre channel so the attack can build left or right of the ruck from that point on.
Secondly, if the winger doesn't receive the ball he acts as a decoy drop-off runner thus creating possible hesistancy in the chasing defenders.
Thirdly, the player who doesn't receive the ball is then in close proximity to take a scoot, particularly important if the kick returner secures a quick PTB during the defence-attack transition.

| Look at Wigan as an example, Tomkins will receive the ball but the defensive line on the kick chase is usually sound if not a little disjointed.
To utilise the effectiveness of Tomkins broken field running he'll drop the ball off to either Richards or Charnley.
Charnley/Richards role is to then hurry the fook up and get up off the tackle, Tomkins then runs at a retreating defensive line and gains more yards with his elusive running.
Now without the support of the wingers, Tomkins drives in, there is no quick play because there isn't the support.
Plus without the wingers support the defence can rush the FB, with the support of the wingers the defence has to have one mind on the cut out pass that puts the winger in to space.

Were on about Warrington now NZ!
All that happens here is as soon as fb gets the ball, rather than make yards back up, he'll do a hesitation, make a flat pass to the winger who is also stood still about 3ft away, who then starts a very slow run, straight into the pursuing tacklers!
Pointless.

| Penalties being kicked backwards to touch.
Warringtons total reluctance to try something different on the advantage/zero tackle play.
Penalties for stripping the ball when it should be a loose carry. As far as I am concerned if a player carries the ball in one hand/arm then it should always be a loose carry.
People not understanding forward momentum in relation to a backwards pass and how that differs with regards to a knock on.
Applauding opponents on to the pitch. This is something we would never do for Wigan, Saints or Widnes - why do it for Catalan!
Wiganers.

It it hadn't have had your name on the post anybody could have been forgiven for calling you a troll!!
Still....those Catalan faithful traveled a long way to be at the GF sitting in the Stretford End, buying Warrington scarfs and singing along, cheering our tries as we were, in the first half...ouch!

It isn't pointless you have been giving two explanations to why this is the case. It has very sound reasons.
It has become more prevalent especially when the trend has been to have only one winger drop with the fullback for kick collection rather than both.
