Joey Jordison; when we saw Slipknot a few years ago my brother-in-law who has been drumming in bands for years and teaches the drums was astonished at how good he was and some of the things he is able to do.

I stood behind Dave Grohl at the Hull KR game. I wasn't impressed really; he didn't join in for any song and spent most of the game slagging Myler off.
Gilmour wasnt a technically great guitarist but his tone and feel made him special. Malmsteen was so fast but fecking boring to listen to.
Some drummers are technically brilliant but totally overplay.

Oh, someone mention Ginger Baker before. His drumming on the live performance of Spoonful on Wheels of Fire is just an orgasm.
