Funny seeing some on here trying to make excuses for what was a cowardly and potentially very dangerous shot on a prone player. You shouldn't be proud of that, Wire player or not.

not condoning bridge as no matter what happened the shot was stupid, but from what I saw he copped a full kick in the knackers before dropping the elbow on him. still as i said, not a smart idea.

You stopped watching the game then. He drove the ball in fairly soon afterwards, had a gang of players on him in the tackle (quite understandable) and it all very nearly kicked off, mainly as a result of Alibert completely ignoring what Bridge did other than to put it on report.
For me, immediate yellow card as a minimum - I can't remember seeing a wire player do something so utterly stupid for a long time.
I'm expecting him to pay a visit to Red Hall in the middle of next week. |

Because the only ref in SL who has the balls to dish out a red card for anything less than a near decapitation is Ganson. |

I'd definitely agree it should have been a yellow card. A red card is more debateable but I've got to be honest and say I wouldn't have argued if he'd been shown a red for it. |

Think Smith needs to have a word with him about channelling his aggression, and think he should have a 1 or 2 game ban.
Think you got rub of the green a bit today, but nothing excessive like have been suggested. Enjoyed the game anyway, and to keep as close to you as we did for most of the game is a step forward for us. You may not have been at your best today, but you are still a top side and lots of teams will do worse than we did this season. |
