Chase isn't just the best half-back at Cas, nor the best player at the club:

After watching Cas for about a quarter of a century, he is far and away the most talented player I've ever seen in an amber shirt.

He is the most difficult player to tackle, and can fire a pass out of the most impossible situations/tackles - it's a testament to how exceptional he is, that I'm making all these statements whilst fully acknowledging that he has a poor kicking game and ordinary defence at best.

I'm being as objective as possible here - I think in a stronger side he would be even more devastating.

Comparing/replacing with/for Briers is far from like for like - Briers is one of the finest players to ever grace SL and under Smith he looks to have regathered his best form - but as many of your fans have pointed out: kicking and organising are clearly his greatest assets.

FWIW I'd be mortified at even the thought of losing Chase - but I don't think a Myler/Rangi combination would get the best out of your outstanding side.

Hes nothing like Briers, hes very much "of the cuff" where as Briers is more of an organising, thinking half back.

Rangi chase is an expert at what he does but it would not compliment this Wire side he would get drowned out i think he likes to be a stand alone stand out star this would not happen in the wire team i think a good honest replacement for briers would be someone like johnathon thurston he too is a thinker and an organiser

He's a speedier, more skilful version of Nathan Wood, he runs runners out etc. Both cracking players to watch who must be at times a nightmare to play alongside.

went missing tonight big style..not what we want down here..i`d rather have briers on one leg

Chase had his work cut out tonight behind that pack. They were almost in reverse.

Moz didn't play much of the 2nd half I noticed..only came on with about 5-10 mins to go I think?
