| For those liking something different, check out cosmic disco website. If you went to Legends you will find some very good Mike Woods mixes.

No, Radiohead played 2 nights at Victoria Park in October 2000 to promote the release of 'Kid A'.....They used the largest tent in Europe and that was quite lucky as I remember it being quite soggy.

| Here's a list of a few old gigs I went to that I posted as part of a discussion about Simon Moran (SJM Music) promoted gigs
Recently London gigs have included The Wedding Present playing 1989 classic album Brassneck, The National, Cast - 15 years of All Change, Interpol, The Divine Comedy, Pavement, and Mudhoney

| nice one Dita, small world ! can you remember the name of the support band though....?
I saw the Sultans more recently, c 2005, still just the same, only slightly older!
did you go to any other Manc or Liverpool gigs around that time ? another one was Carter USM (Post Historic Monsters tour) with Sultans and Blink (not 182!) supporting, at the Manc Academy in Nov 1993.

Emperor's of Ice Cream????
I was at that Carter gig too....I seem to remember Niall from the Sultans spending most of their set verbally abusing Carter fans in a knockabout manner??

| Emporers of Ice Cream was correct, well remembered! Niall from SoP was always well funny with his comedy banter, sometimes the banter would be longer than the songs !
Did you go to Legends indie nights around the same time as well ?

indeed, the Friday indie night moved quite suddenly c Dec 1993 from Legends and reopened at the Old Lion on Bridge Street for a few months, then on to the World until that closed for the about nth time c 1998?
Never saw the Franks live but would have liked to - have just checked their website, and as it happens both they and the Sultans are on tour together as we speak ! In Ireland only at the moment, but looks like there's a gig in march in Leeds as well.. www.sultansofping.com/

| I was at James on Saturday and saw Tony Smith in the VIP section to the right of the stage. Also saw James at Liverpool Academy earlier this year and was stood next to Dave Woods (BBC commentator).
I saw Wilco Johnson a few weeks back at Manceshter Acad and would highly recommend.
I've also been to Madness and Paul Weller recently, both very good concerts although some of PW's stuff just doesn't suit a live gig.
The best concert this year was From The Jam at the Cavern in July. I have never been so hot in my life but what a night.

| I've seen:
U2, Morrissey, Springsteen, Editors, Oasis, The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, We Are Scientists, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Razorlight, Lost Prophets, The Subways, British Sea Power....amongst others.
Without a doubt the best band I've seen live is a group called Delays, lesser known but well worth looking into if you appreciate good bands.
