Clarke & Monaghan can play in the halves or hooker, with Clarke also switching to 2nd row or loose if needed. Vinnie can play 2nds, halves, or centre, so IMHO the only choice was between Higham & Myler.
With options from Monaghan, Clarke & Vinnie to cover the halves, then I think it was a straight choice in defensive workrate between Myler & Higham, for me Higham would be the better option.
Think the gameplan will be much like the SF, with a forward battle of attrition, hence the option chosen. There's enough quality in the backs to create the openings without Myler.
Myler is a try-scorer, simple as that. There are a fair few deficiencies in his game and i was one of those who questioned his signing, but he knows where the line is. If we are 4 points behind going into the last 5/10 minutes i know who i want on the field and it isn't clarke or higham. Just my opinion.
