Good post. How are the ST evenings advertised other than on here?

Pretty sure it has been referred to in the Warrington Guardian (they certainly have in the past), certainly this one via League Express, stadium concourses, club shop and club website. I think there were tannoy announcements at half-time on Sunday. Short of following Wigan and doing an advert before The Bill I don't know what more people could do.
I wonder whether a back page advert on the Guardian might pay off?
Whenever people attend these evenings they are nigh-on always glowing in their feedback yet get people out of their arm-chairs to attend is a thankless task.

That's pretty comprehensive marketing Sean (I wasn't making a dig by the way). I don't recall I have seen anything in the concourse nor in the shop (but I go to the shop only once pcm). I did see a "Don't mickey the future way" poster in the Gents at Wilderspool. I think the Guardian idea has merit and it could work as part of a FOC "infomercial" i.e) a nice, interesting, inside piece about the outcomes from the event (editorial) together with dates for the forthcoming (advert).
I must admit I'm a member of both ST and SqB and haven't been to any event (since 2002) which I know is my loss and reflects poorly on me. I always think of a reason not to go. It maybe because I am shy and think that those who do are sort of uber-fans. However I think it would be nice to receive an email with the outcomes following the event (i.e. financials, key announcements, developments, strategy, vision, photos, AGM stuff etc) and that may whet my appetite enough for me to get off my backside and attend.
I'm speculating now - Maybe the marketing is fine and broad, and it's just the way the offering is presented that doesn't make it compelling? Or maybe as you say we are a lethargic lot.
Anyway to all involved in both SqB and ST keep up the good work

| Maybe an idea (an off the top of my head brainstorm without thinking of logistics in terms of availability of staff, players and function rooms) would be to stage an event directly after a home game? It maybe having 10,000 people in the vicinity together with a compelling tannoy announcement throughout the game and FOC entry may get a good number of first timers to attend and then a good number to enrol into the programme?

| We had a Q and A session straight after a home game this season and the event still wasn't particularly well attended.

If your not on any of them websites or buying a programme you might not hear about the meetings or really even know about Squadbuilder.
I still think leaflets handed out at home games telling people what Squadbuilder does and the aims of it etc would help spread the word, as its a way to target all of the match day support.

So to whom do we credit?'"
Dean Bell! He made Leeds a team brimming with local stars, then turned Wigan into a team with the luxury to be able to sell Briscoe, Wild, Brown, Robinson, Aspinall and still promote O'Loughlin and Hansen et al!
As good as Bastian may or may not be, he's been riding coat-tails so far in his career!

Just to answer this point we have noticeboards in every concourse at the stadium that advertises our events and also explains what Squadbuilder is about. We have tried leafleting in the past, the problem with leaflets is that they just end up as litter or are made into paper aeroplanes. The club have sent out information for us with each season ticket renewal notice. One season we sent out 6000 and we actually recruited one member.
Saying all this we welcome all ideas that would lead to recruiting more members.

| I think unless it is a truly unique type of forum like meet the new Head Coach you are flogging a bit of a dead horse. Attendance figures are generally low because the majority of middle of the road speccies know they are likely to hear something they have already read online or in a newspaper. Coaches and players are too savvy to drop any real juicy info. The more successful events appear to be things like the Quiz Night which enables speccies to meet players in a more informal an enjoyable setting.

Maybe. Ladies night seems to work though. Perhaps we need to be more base. Indeed can we have a gentlemans evening with a blue comedian, cheap ale, pie and peas and one of those tidy sorts from the club shop on a pole?
I'm joking of course.
No, I still think the issue of low attendance can be sorted with creative thinking but the product needs to be right.
