I can't see that as I dont think the units on bridge street have anything to do with golden square and they therefore could not stop them taking it up.
From what I here the unit was too small / wrong layout for them. |

It would be too small but there was a condition in Debenhams' agreement that Primarni would not be allowed into town for a number of years. Ideal place for it would have been old Woolies building. |

p.s: Re: films at the ABC, I remember seeing Convoy at the ABC then getting the Crosville bus home (it use to have a stop right outside)  |

Just checked it was released in 1975 as an 'A' and I was actually only 6! It looks like the 'A' is now equivalent to the 'PG', amazing really as that film has traumatised a generation of people from floating about on the sea on a lilo! |

i was thinking about that a few weeks back, i was letting my daughter (10) watch a few bits of it then i was surprised to see it was only a PG. |

Our 11 year old likes to watch the old horrors on the movie channels - what would have been AA or X in the 70s now get a PG rating, they'd probably even downgrade the Exorcist these days... |

I believe Debenhams agreed to move into Warrington on condition there was no Primark for a number of years. |

i think the bottom end now has been raised up now, if you look at some of the stuff in the harry potter movies, and also the narnia and LOTR films.
Its the violence on the telly, the flourescant lights and beef hormones that are warping our kids. |

Ahhhhh, The 'Boat. What fun.
But "cougars"? More like old dogs. Or as we refered to them at the time, the "Hanging Howley Housewives".
