Because, Warrington is a north west seat in Parliament. Nick Griffin holds a north west European Parliament seat. Very relevant, I feel, and much more worthy of sensible debate and discussion than a couple of scruffy brothers from Burnage IMO.
The problem lies that with rights, privellages, come responsibilities.
In this country, we have the privellage to be free to vote. We do, however, have a responsibilty of care to our fellow man and a responsibility to vote for the party we believe best suited to the election. The recent election was a Local Parliament election, the general consesus is that many people voted 'blind', not really looking at the parties' manifestos and policies.
The arguement that immigrants ruin Britian, IMO, is short sighted and ignorant - at very best!
Are we talking about the same britain here? The britain that had a global empire and ruled India for years? The britain who's greatest export is people? Australia and america being two examples where little trace of their heritage is left, instead a white, anglo species is dominant?
Britain, where hundreds of thousands of people leave everyyear for a new life in foreign countries? They are called expats, why not immigrants? That's what they are.
This country was built by immigrants - the romans built our roads and our towns, the vikings, french and germans gave us our expansive linguistic options. How far back do we go before we are british? The irish navis that aided the industrial revolution, they were immigrants. The ghurkas were, too. As was the cheap, but industrious labour that came to britain in th 60s when we needed.
Very much ruining the country indeed.
Amongst other things, the BNP's main beliefs include:
To be 'British', you cannot be non-white, regardless of how long many generations of your family have been British; you cannot be any religion other than Christian; you cannot be homosexual.
These are just a few examples. If this still doesn't phase you, how about the fact that they oppose WWII on the grounds that we fought with our own race - they actually praise Hitler!
Furthermore, the party is made up of ignorant, sexist bigots, several of whom are convicted rapists. They promote sexism to the extent of the private sphere, ie husbands/fathers the head of the household and women as inferior yet this is one of the traits of Islam that the BNP claim to oppose!
A girl I know who studies politics at Man Met summed up the BNP as "a racist, fascist, anti semetic, homophobic, islamophobic, sexist, nazi party proud of their holocaust denial".
I don't see the problem, either.
