27608.jpg Motto of the week -
It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.:27608.jpg |
|
| Quote: General Zod. "Morley and Carvell were awesome, even though Morley got owned by Super Maka more than once
TBF Zod all those hits did was excite the crowd, neither tackle gained Rovers any significant advantage and one of them if not both will likely go down as missed tackles on Macca's stats.
In all honesty Morley 'owned' each and every Rovers forward on Saturday and was truly outstanding in tandam with Carvs.

Aizue hit Morley with 2 shoulder Charges in 85 minutes of Rugby League.
the first didnt bother him much and the second he still managed to offload a good pass away....!!!
I dont Recall Aizue troubling any of our forwards with any of his drives......
so again what is owned....???'"
Makes you laugh doesn't it. He got caught with 2 shoulder charges which may look good but had no effect whatsoever on the game. Unless you actually wind someone when you do charge them it's a pointles thing to do.
As you said he off loaded after one and with the other it allowed him to get up straight away and do a quick play the ball. Would have been much better to do a normal tackle.

True, but i still don't think morley would have been too pleased about getting knocked over twice

I'm surprised it took this long for someone to point that out the first shoulder charge Morley just got up and carried on the second he got the offload in with Aizue still on the floor.
You can't say that Morley was put on the floor by either challenge.

No but he used that emotion in the right way and lifted his game.

| There wasnt a big hit (or even a small one) when he charged through that gap to take Higham's ball.
Law of averages says a prop forward is going to take a few cracks occasionally.

He went hunting for Aizue didn't he?
Adrian Morley has been an absolutely fanastic player for us. Funny how no-one mentions his salary any more. Whatever we're paying him, it's worth it.

For sure and nothing wrong with that; you want your props to go out and want to dominate your forward opponent. Warrior mentality.

Absolutely. I was just hoping he got his timing right and didn't do himself/Aziu an injury. Was it me or did Morley do more minutes on Saturday? If so, what is the lazy b***** up to most weeks!? SACK HIM.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| Hardly rewriting the laws of physics though, ist it. Morley full tilt going forwards, Aizue coming in from the side, Morley's momentum was probably more the reason he went over.

And in both cases; secured a quick play the ball and in the other instance offloaded. Would have made Aizue feel good momentarily though.

...and then slightly worried for the rest of the game?
Good hit by the lad - but I thought it provided just the motivation Mozza would need?

| if Morley and les boyd went toe to toe at the peak of their game i think the world would implode before anybody would win.
If any other of our players bar carvell had took those hits i don't think they'd just jump up the way morley did.

| I think that in Carvell and Morley we have the two best starting props in the league IMO.
They bash the opposition up a little then we bring on the fast legs of Higham and he runs them about and tires them.
Adrian Morley though is a very good forward because no matter how much he gets knocked about he gets back up and knocks them harder.

To be fair I think most payers in Super League would jump up. There was nothing in the hit just caught him off balance.
