How do you know? Are you privvy to the club's accounts?
With Season Ticket sales down, match day ticket sales down, a global recession and fewer people with money burning holes in their pockets, 100k is very handy to anyone.
How do you know that the 100k, reported, isn't going straight into a high interest account 'til the end of the season? Big money raid for Shenton, perhaps?
Or a new purpose-built training ground/academy centre of excellence?

I'd agree but he doesn't want to be here any more (if he ever did) saintc - on that basis I can understand getting rid. He's a class centre and will be excellent for wigan but if he'd rather go we're better off without him.

If you have the details of any high interest accounts can you let me know.

Irrelevant really. Wire dont have a history of posting big losses or reporting big debts. 100K for a player you paid over 200K for is dissapointing. I'd want at least 150 - 200K as a cash only deal and if Wigan tried to throw Mathers into the eqation too I'd ask for an additional 50K on top of that to compensate.

I agree mate, If they dont want to play for you then get rid....but for Mathers???
When the deal was speculated to include Goulding I thought both sides had done well out of it but TBH I'd feel robbed now if I were a Wire fan.

| He's scored no tries this year and assisted for about 2 if that.
His tries per game since 2005 works out at 0.4.
Since he joined he had one good year with him scoring and also creating tries for Henry in 2005.
That try he scored against Bradford last year was what he really can do but it hasn't happened enough for quite a while now. £100,000 and a player makes good sense than losing him for nothing in a years time.

Isn't there certain accounts where if you have more than x amount, the interest immediately increases?

You would never catch me with one of those childish signatures: |
|
| To be honest i'm not really bothered about Gleeson leaving. Us and Saints had the best years out of him and he seems to have lost what pace he had, and he doesn't seem to able to stand anyone up with his footwork anymore. Andrew Johns mentioned in his autobiography Gleeson was a carbon copy of Matt Gidley, after watching Gidley's performance today and for the last 2 seasons aswell as Gleeson's, i'm afraid there worlds apart. With Gleeson's salary now freed up aswell as Reardon's (maybe) we should be able to make a move for a world class back, Jamie Lyon would be nice.

This is the crux of the argument for me. We benefit far more than him walking at the end of the season for nowt. It makes perfect sense.

As if the cap would ever stop them, small fine or small point deduction as always if broken by Wigan.
