Si, would you really want Matt Orford here after last time where he looked liked he used us as a lever to get a better deal in the NRL ?
I`m not sure on both to be honest, Matt Orford for the reasons above and ive not seen Jamie Lyon show anywhere near his St Helens form for Manly yet, he`s obviously still a good player but ive not gone WoW at anything he`s done since he signed for Manly which is what people were saying on a regular basis when he was at saints.
Also Lyon is a right centre and King is a errrr not sure what but its rumoured he is a left centre and a winger of sorts so it wouldn`t be swapping like for like in a positional sense, if we could get Shenton at left centre then yeh it could work with Lyon at right centre if Gleeson does go. Like i said above though, ive not seen anywhere near Jamie Lyon`s saints form whilst he has been at Manly.
We have Matt Orford to thank for us being lumbered with Michael Sullivan, if he had given us a straight answer earlier instead of messing us about we would have had more time to find a better scrum half instead of panick buying Sullivan.

Neither. Just felt I ought to contribute and seeing as Lockyers name hadn't been mentioned I thought that my poop is just as good as anyone elses!

So who do you reckon would be a good signing as a halfback?
Is Sean Long off contract at Saints....?

The off season signings have happened over the last few years anyway just better at advertising it , however how many of these are local home grown talent ?
Is there scouting going on at club and School level actaully going out watching matches? maybe I am not aware of it but is it independant or down to the views of local coaches etc
I am not sure of the changes of the scholarship scheme so will take your word for it
And on the last point good thanks for the info'"
The Service Area process has been much better this year with the selection being made after coaches going to local games, followed by training sessions followed by a trial match. In previous years selection has just been via one or two trial games.
Player invite has been through schools and clubs to widen the net.
Regardless, I think the main problem in the past has been to the step up for younger players into the reserves and the first team. This hopefully has been the subject of some attention.

Good shout. I do think he is a bit of a home bird though. I'm pretty sure he left Wests to return to Queensland to be nearer his family, though I think his wife may have been the driving factor behind that.

And to think everyone loved to hate Jason Hoopwer. He would be a mere pup in comparison.

Your right he is a Queensland man and seems reluctant to move away but he would be a really good signing for us if we could get him away from Australia, he's 29 at the moment and im not sure when his contract runs out, like somebody mentioned money talks so you never know.
If we were going to sign an Australian Half-Back then he would be top of my list but we should be aiming high instead of going for somebody that the Aussies no longer want.
