| There's a post on the Barrow forum that Lee Briers could be coming on loan to Barrow until the end of the season, does anyone know if there is any truth in this.

| Can I just ask where/what/who the connection is with Briers and Barrow?
In the past, we've had rumours he's going to the following:
Leigh, as a swap for Neil Turley. Made some sense, in that the coach at the time was playing Briers at Full Back.
Saints, his hometown club.
Hull KR, 'cause his missus wants to move back home.
Widnes, 'cause best mate Cullen is there.
Celtic Crusaders, 'cause he was a high profile player for the Welsh RL side.
Now, I can't see any obvious link with Barrow. Maybe, just maybe, off all of these rumours, the least obvious one is true. Is that irony?

He's out with a broken hand right now, so he'd be no help. Quite how you think he's way out of his depth i'm not sure. He's shown up okay so far in what has been a pretty miserable Salford start. I'd love him at Warrington, has immense promise.

| His support play is good, but his ball handling skills are almost non-existent. I'm sick of so-called half backs who can't pass a ball. If we are gonna ship out players on big salaries, let's use the money wisely.

| If Myler was THAT promising i'd have thought a 'big' club would have moved heaven and earth to pick him up while he's still at a smaller club rather than later when he'd command a much bigger salary

SL sides tend to have a ball player & a runner in the halves, the succesful sides do anyhow. He's the latter primarily, but folk can improve y'know. Danny McGuire is now far better with ball in hand, but perhaps less of a threat as a runner than he was when he burst onto the scene, peoples games develop in different ways.
Myler is playing week in week out, and that's what he obviously feels is the best thing for his development. He left Widnes, played 30 games last year, and had he not broke his hand, would have played 30 top flight games this year, no doubt he's learning all the time. The next step for him, may be to move to a 'bigger' side, and improve his game and take it to the next level.
Smith picked him for England, he's normally a decent judge of a player.

Apparently, you did try to sign him, not too sure when but it was a mega-bucks offer (apparently).
Just out of interest, if you released Briers and/or Monaghan, who would replace them in the team? Ie. Do you have a good enough replacement in your academy?

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

We have quite a handy player named Gareth O'Brien playing at seven in the reserves. But it is a hell of a step up to first team.

You should have sent Kath Hetherington and family to Oz to do the groundwork for his signature.....and then stepped in, its easy
