Well then you are a fool and so is the other poster.
Anybody who knows anything about the game or talks to those who do will tell you Kay has always been an exceptional talent.
As an academy player at both Bradford and Trinity, he was touted as a future international.
The problem with Liam is that he was headstrong and that he had too many other things going on in his life and for the best part of 10 years he was happy to pick up a wage on the wing scoring 168 tries in 198 without ever really trying! Please no guff about most being in the Championship, they still need scoring.
Since joining Trinity he has been a revelation. He's playing on the wing at present due to an injury problem there but he is in fact one of our two first-choice hookers. How many wingers have what it takes to do that in less than a year. He's a top-notch 9 now and he would get a game in most SL teams, end of the debate.
People like you need to do a bit more homework before you mouth off about players of whom your only knowledge of is their name.

I could have walked it, I wouldn’t have gone if it was free entry.

Last line of that suggests no one could have expected it.. I think a lot of people knew it would be poor because they’d watched the previous game.

Sorry Shropshire Wire but your cover is blown. You are not a newcomer to RL at all. Off you go and make up another name.

utter tosh, look at his record against Charnleys, one has been in superleague doing it for fun for years the other is Liam Kay....they still need scoring...yeah against part time opposition, which time for trinity? The first when they released him or this time? I do my homework thanks and watched him a lot, especially at Leigh, I can tell you then he wasnt even their best winger, pretty much how hes not even in the top 2 wingers at Wakefield, hes not even played 40 games in his 9 years pro career in superleague

If you had done your homework then you'd know that Wakefield did not let him go, he was out of contract and the club could not match Leigh's offer, consequently ending up there, it appears that doing your homework isn't a strongpoint of yours

The fact that some of our fans don't think we have a right to be fuming is one of the reasons we don't win grand finals. Its been said over and over on here,...........CULTURE!! We just accept mediocrity(and even sometimes applaud it!!)'"
Saints and Wigan have kind of earned the right to a bit of arrogance and expectancy, they’re proven winners, up until recently Leeds have too. Wire fans / players don’t have that right. Nowhere near consistent enough and nowhere near enough league titles and cup wins. You spend big but it’s not always working. I expect massive improvement throughout the season from you and do think you’ll challenge in the play offs but at the moment you can’t expect this like saints / Wigan do.

| Josh Charnley also had a loan spell at Blackpool Panthers during which time he played against Doncaster.

Interesting angle. I'd say our expectancy, or at least mine, comes down to money. We've been the biggest spenders in the league (or one of them) for about 14/15 years now. We have far too little to show for it.
When you're paying a lot more for your players than your opposition, it should be expected that you'll beat them a lot more times than not.
For many reasons over the years, especially in the last 8/9, we've constantly fallen short. Many people, including me, think that's down to a culture that doesn't have the elite mentality that Wigan and Saints have. We play the likes of Wakefield and expect to win without putting in the effort.
That lack of excellence and effort is something Wigan and Saints don't stand for. We seem accepting of it.
Maybe it's a bit of a paradox, in that it's hard to have that mentality without winning trophies but to win trophies you need that mentality. Hence, 0 Grand Final wins.

Neither was Liam Kay, not sure what your point is/was comparing the two.

Because I have an opinion? Sigh. Not that I have to justify myself to you but…
It’s an observation based on the last previous couple of games lacking in effort. I’m still enjoying learning a bit of RL but it doesn’t take a seasoned to fan to know people will vote with their feet. If this board is any indication of the general view in the town I’m not shocked by the attendance . I chose Warrington as my in-laws are from the town - we have a family WhatsApp group - half a dozen of them haven’t been yet this season out of apathy. I’ve been to more games and I live 90 minutes away.
It’s common sense it would be a low attendance - I had a season ticket at Wrexham FC for a few years (well well before Hollywood got involved) - I’ve watched games in 2500 crowds (and Welsh cup games of about 750 when it was the Premier cup) as the last few seasons has been let downs you could tell you were were shaping up for mediocrity a dozen games in. Actually - that’s reminded me - I did go to a couple of Crusaders games way back when so no, I have seen a rugby league game before (one was against Wigan who out numbered the home support, can’t recall the other)
I go to sport to be entertained and see some effort, also a bit to people watch and have a couple of pints. I’m not likely to be the only person like that. For me it’s a fifty quid trip when I work in ticket, couple of pints, parking, bit of diesel. Surely you can see that it’s not rocket science that people will be sussing out £50 quid on watching RL or £50 on a family activity doing something else.
