| We’ve got a quality goal kicker in Roberts, for some reason though, he’s not taking up the responsibility.
A big issue for us, for sure.

| Quote: just_browny "Roberts was fine - we scored enough tries to win a game.
The two major disasters were Livett and Murdoch-Masila
Hemmings tonight....
1. Consistently tried to cast doubt over dead cert Warrington tries when referred to video ref.
2. Rarely had a good word to say about our performance.
3. Could barely hide his excitement when Castleford re-took the league.
4. Took glee in the fact that Castleford were on the same points as Warrington with a game in hand.
It was as bad as his "Oh no" moment when we scored a decisive try last season.
As for Murdoch-Masila I think he should only be given the ball when we are 10 yards away from the opposition line on the 4th tackle. Certainly never when we are in our own half looking for a steady drive unless we are 19pts or more up.

| Out played by Cas in terms of faster play the balls & making more yardage with ball in hand. Intelligent play in trying to score nearer the post to give the kicker a chance. We had 3 or 4 kicks on the touchline which is hard for any goalkicker, if we had kicked all the goals we would have won .
Memo... need to perfect fast play the balls involving moving off the mark to get a penalty from contact with the marker.
Memo... need to learn to con ref into not seeing us offside at ptb.
Memo...need to score nearer to posts to give a better chance to goalkicker.

| Pretty bizarre result tonight. I haven't seen any of it yet as I was at our game. How did you ship that many points to that Cas lineup? No Moors, Gale, Roberts, Ellis or McShane? That's arguably all their best players, I thought you'd win by 30 tonight.

I expected a Cas side to turn up with the objective of keeping the score down but it was obvious from the 1st minute they'de come to win. I do agree with some that the Wigan game took a lot of juice out of you and as the teams trooped off at half time Wire players had their heads down and looked dejected compared to Cas.Not sure about the kicking argument as Turner made his debut and took over the kicking duties very well and when he went off Milner kicked his first ever goal. Anyway the way things are going I can see us meeting in the grand final and what a game that would e. go. Good luck for the rest of the season.'"
I’m sorry to tell you that the chances of this happening are zero, that is a brilliant comment.

| Why do they always make such a fuss about the “Super League Legend” who nominates the man of the match award, and which inevitably keeps Eddie’s pants excited for the last 15 minutes of any game, remaining anonymous? I can only assume he’s just back from a tour of duty with the SAS in Syria or something

| Kyle Eastmond was a good goal kicker whilst at St Helens. Since he went to union he has not kicked any goals.

Not sure you would have won if you kicked all your goals..... The score would have been 36-34 to you but we had a few late penalties which could of tied the game at 36 all so down get too downhearted at the fact you missed 3 kicks.

And Watts, who has been our best forward since he signed. And Eden who is a massive attacking threat and meant we had a midget playing on the wing who Charnley could outjump without jumping.

| Sorry to get in the way of a the easy/obvious/simple "facts" but our kicks at goal were much more difficult and were pretty close to going over. Please don't assume that we just buy the Cas kicker and all will be rosy.
Cas moved the ball better than us.
Why hasn't QLT played in Super League? Is there anyone else playing in the Championship e.g. Sammut ... who ought to be playing with the big boys ... but has been written off as "not Super League standard".

Your posts are painful. The chances of a Wire v Cas GF are nowhere near zero. You’re far too partisan to be allowed to comment outside the Saints forum, you’re a bore on every topic on the VT and any other team’s forum because you’re just too bias towards Saints it makes my skin itch.
All it takes would be for Barba to get caught taking drugs, again, the week before the semi final.

Agree with this, none of our kickers would have missed the kicks cas had.

Clubs have players who are at their clubs because they are good rugby players. When injuries occur clubs don’t pluck fat lads with ill-fitting shirts out of the stand to play. The squad players, who have RL contracts for a good reason, come in with a point to prove. Sometimes it’s young players who actually are found to be better than their more senior counterpart. You match lads with a point to prove and unearthed gems against a team probably relaxed a bit too much after a meaningful win the week before and a bit of complacency and the underdog will win most times.
As the saying goes; “Hard work beats talent if talent doesn’t work hard.”
It’s seen time and time and time again, yet still seems a surprise to most when it happens. Defensively Wire did not work hard enough last night and we were exposed by quick play the balls and taking advantage of lazy gaps that kept appearing.
Saying that, Cas still had a lot of talent on the pitch. They’ve arguably got the best/deepest squad in SL.

| After one bleedin game I’m sick to death of this “QLT” nonsense though.
What’s so hard about calling him Laulu-Togaga'e, it’s no harder to say than McCarthy-Scarsbrook.
