| I bet draw ht / leigh ft at 18/1. Very happy.
I also had a small bet on the double with draw ht Bradford ft 40/1.
Frigging close to busting the bookies! Only a conversion off!

| Sum it up, Wire scored tries we wouldn't have against SL opposition, a lot of long range tries due to Donny not setting quick enough.
A lot of stuff was the disjointed, slugglish confusion of late but Donnys lack of line speed wasn't going to trouble it.
We looked to have started up some set plays, not very slick.
Donny dropped a lot of ball and the atmosphere was flat. It felt like a Wetherspoons pub on a busy Saturday night just people chatting with each other, little singing.
Kicking game on the few they held out on the full set was rubbish AGAIN.

| Mr Smith seems quite pleased even if no-one else does ...............
"Chris was on fire today. He was terrific. He was keen to step into the stand-off position when he heard Stefan (Ratchford) was out and he's backed that up with a very good performance," Smith said.
"He was one of the shining lights, but there were plenty of them today and another was Kevin Penny.
"Kevin read the play very well and was smart in the way he turned up for his tries and he's progressing well."

Thanks. I think for Donny they decided this would be a case of take the money and run, with league position being so important in the championship this year. However having seen the attendance I bet they wish they had been at the LSV too!

| Bridge was outstanding today in stark contrast to GOB who once again failed to make the most of a gift wrapped opportunity. Patience is wearing thin I am afraid
Hill, superb, England and B Evans solid. Dwyer lively but needs to work on his passing ... get him to watch a few Kevin Ellis videos for speed and accuracy of passing
Kevin Penny was very entertaining and people woke up when he got the ball.
So far this season I have been impressed with Russell but am beginning to wonder. Has he actually broken through the line yet?

| Although it was Championship opposition ,there did seem to be more structured play & more organisation from the halves today, but only time will tell we have hit on the best combination when the team are up against SL opposition again. Good outings from Penny & England & all the young lads played their socks off when called on to do so. Best of all Joel ran more than 30 yards to score !

| My fear reading TS comments on injuries thread, is that this is nothing but temporary. Perhaps Bridge will play 6 at Bradford but then when Ratch returns he'll go straight back at 3.
I'd prefer to see Ratchford at 3 and leave Bridge at 6.
The balance just seems so right like that.
I'd probably prefer Myler with Bridge as GOB is too much of the same with Bridge and probably why GOB looked quiet...??

TBH all season we've been debating how to accomodate players (Myler, Atkins, Ratchford, GOB, M. Monas, Asotasi) who have been good in very, very small amounts, more often distinctly average and on occasionally absolutely woeful. I've given up trying to fathom what's best and fairest. I've said it before but there is no point in experimenting with different combinations and bringing players in if they get shipped out at the first opportunity regardless of performance or squad number.
So yes, I fully expect Rathford to slot straight back into the halves. So who drops out? Evans. Atkins or Penny?

| Just a couple of thoughts, and no disrespect to my own team, but that was not by any measure the team we have been putting out, mostly through injuries, DR and Cookes choice due to the importance of the league for CL clubs.
Once I saw our team on paper I swiftly adjusted my own prediction to 60+ albeit should have done a bit better.
I hope you go onto do well, word to wise, assuming that is the same Penny that has been on DR for last season or so, then wouldn't read to much into it today, he has looked a good player at our level but nothing major and again he wasn't against our best set up.
I like Wire and TBH as an outsider I've never been massively sold on Myler as the quality your sized club warrants.

| Rubber Duckie you can have some fun with folks on here for the rest of the season now.
Every time we lose you can post on every thread that we should have had Bridge at 6 and if we'd had Bridge at 6 we would have won. If they don't believe you cite the game where we hammered an understrength Doncaster team.
If you want you can join my Monaghan at 7 campaign. Evidence: when we bossed Leeds at Wembley.

Just to set the record straight Kev Penny was Swinton's player last season not on DR.

| Not meaning to sound disrespectful to Louis or Donny but we could have had Jouffret and GOB in the halves yesterday and we'd have won comfortably.
