Our team has a record of making previously good players look bad, either through them being injured or being genuinely disinterested in being with us. Rodwell, Leroy Rivett, Mark Jones, Adam Fogerty, David Kidwell, Leroy Rivett, Andy Currier, Mike Ford and Manoa Thompson spring to mind.

I was going to mention Leroy Rivett, he was terrible for us, still living off those four tries he scored in the challenge cup final!

Mike "Pip" Wernham. Possibly the worst player in Western Europe.

Just hearing some of these names is enough to bring me to tears we really had some shockers and most looked like they couldnt be bothered to try.

I always remember my dad going mad as we were the only team not to chase a kick and let the opposition run at us and gain good field position. It really was his pet hate.

There's a few players, i think certainly from that 2002 season that were lamented just because of how bad the team performances were.

Rivett for example, for the first couple of games of the season, he wasn't bad, and i'm pretty sure he scored a few tries, yes he came on the back of his career falling apart but he did ok, people just remember him as being poor, though he did get buggered off partway through the season, but as we all saw, that year tries were very few and far between cos of the way ando had set us up.

everyone says crouthers, crouthers was terrible, he was pretty good at bradford and wakey, he barely played much first team for us before getting released, and then brought back.

just for steve51 though, Laughton was done before he came here, i dont think he wanted to admit it, his glass back was shot to pieces when he was at shuddersfield.

i effin hates antony swann though, he really wasted his bloody career.

He joined us in the April and played 9 matches before leaving in June, in that time he scored 1 try against Hull FC (his 3rd match).

Oh do me a favour. I could have probably done OK against Runcorn bloody Highfield. I also remember him getting lairy with some poor Keighley player in the Cup that year. What a big man.

If the best thing you can say about Steve Roach's time in a Wire shirt is that he tore it up against Runcorn, I'll rest my case.

Exactly - He was nothing short of a disgrace....It says it all that probably his best game for Wire was the Cup semi with Wigan at Maine Road - Only when it was in his own selfish interest of possibly getting a game at Wembley, did Roach bother to show up. For run-of-the-mill league fixtures he barely bothered to turn up.

Runcorn highfield haha! I would love to know what he did that was so special!!

Some good came out of that season. Mark Hilton came back and did well, Nick Fozzard was good and Domic was a star. However if we all think about, the coaching team and the backbone of that side (maybe backbone is the wrong word in this case) would make our worst ever team.

Fieldhouse. Was a superb player, with a great eye for an opening, so he could put a player through gaps. Suffered years of abuse, then left, as part of the Andy Greg exchange, and immediately got GB honours, and was a GB regular for a few years.

Wainwright. The HJ's favourite scapegoat (with Clarke running him a close second). Another player who I liked.

I'm surprised some numpties haven't mentioned Mark Thomas. Single handedly got us to Wembley in 90, by putting out 2 FANTASTIC passes, when the rest of the side where strolling round with their thumbs up their 'arrisses, wondering how we were going to win. Also won us the Regal, 8 months later. Now he DID take some grief of the "faithfull"

It's just TOO easy to name anyone from THAT 2002 squad, so I'll leave well alone
