I enjoyed Shawshank Redemption but think it is very overrated and is not deserving of a pl;ace in a top 10 (or top 50 for that). Too syrupy, particluary the last 30 minutes. Great performances though.
The Big Lebowski? Not the Coen Brothers best. Couldn't decide whether to put one of theirs in... Fargo? Barton Fink?

Yeah, good film, but not a great. When you've directed masterpieces such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas, even a film as good as The Departed (which knowck spots off most off other films) pales in comparison. |
