Well that's your own fault for pooping in your socks then...

| I'd rather be bitten by a chihuahua than a staffordshire bull terrier if I had to choose. Common sense - sharper teeth, more powerful jaws, musculature.

| Staffies have sharper teeth than chihuahuas? Really? I take it from the constant references, that it's staffies you have concerns over, and to be fair, the media love entertaining people like yourselves with horror stories. The fact that the majority of these incidents involve staff cross breeds, pits or other crosses, won't factor into the information you're fed. The fact that rescue shelters are full of staffs is heart breaking, and the image that you conjure up is the reason most will never be rehomed, despite being one of the breeds with the most consistent temperaments around. There are only two breeds of dog that the Kennel Club recommend for people with young children. One is the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, need I tell you which the other breed is?

| Every attack on a child is of course totally unacceptable but they are so few and far between especially when you consider the number of dogs in this country. The benefits a dog can bring to a family and the important roles they play in society with out a moan, just a waggy tail, completely outweigh the negative
incidents. Shall we ban cars/planes/DIY tools because of accidents. No we don't. We just have to accept
that there are risks involved all aspects of life

Are you sure its not some of the local talent you have picked up ? Most birds around Bewsey look like a cross between a stray and a Staffordshire Bull bitch.
I'd return them to where you found them before their boyfriends realise that their missing because technically its kidnap.

| Some ridiculous argument on here regarding dog attacks.
In the VERY rare occasion that they do happen (i notice the links about the poor baby in Scotland was from 2009 and i think very few willhave happened since) it is a terrible thing. Truly terrible.
However, I would say that more children are killed by car accidents, general accidents, neglect etc a year than dog attacks in a decade.
Should we ban cars and everything else?
Look at the terrible thing parents do to their children, on a more regular basis than a dog attack, look at the horrible things that happened to baby P for example. Should we ban humans from having babies?
A well trained and cared for dog becomes a member of the family. neglected dogs have behaviour issues because they aren;t taught to control them and what is acceptable behaviour!
Some stupid comments on here.
Hope the two staffies find a home

Which comments are stupid? All I am suggesting is that some dogs are more dangerous by others (obviously) and usually belong to the sub-classes who do not look after them correctly and that they have killed children.

| Quote: Wires71 "One "staff" tearing a child's cardio vascular system apart (as duly evidenced by the report) is one too many in my opinion. You never hear of a cat doing same. They are by logical deduction lethal. I'm sorry if I mickey you off but facts are facts. We do not have to agree nor make it personal.
The fact is they are an aggressive mammal and left in the hands of the sub-class (who incidentally can scarcely raise a child sufficiently well enough to attend school, read or write and respect law and order) they are lethal.
Why is it always these fatal/hideously marring dog attacks happen, almost without exception, within council estates? In fact why do most child abuse cases arise from the very same places?'"
As an educated poster like youself, I expected more from you. The bottom line is they're excellent dogs, however if they're brought up and trained to fight then they will, as will most dogs.

This is what was stupid, anyone can post two images to make one thing look worse than another, for example
versus
Everyone protect your dogs from the angry baby!
I'm not even a dog owner and can see its how you train one not the breed
