Nobody seems to have noticed just how much St Helens raised their game against us on Saturday, they haven't played as well as that for months.'"
Actually i don't rate Wigan that much, i know they are currently sitting top of the league but they strike me as very workman like (ala huddersfield last season) and have done nothing for the last few seasons. When i talk about the teams that matter, i'm talking about the teams that have won things and the teams that we'll have to beat to win trophies.

| Shame he had to miss that kick as his one before half time from over 40 metres out was awesome from someone who has only been kicking recently, but because he missed that last one he hasn't got much praise for it.

| I'm so bored of this 'beat Leeds and Saints' rubbish, blah, blah. The more you lot rant on about it the more of an issue it becomes.
So beating a top team is everything is it? So why then are you not taking into account that we beat THE top team at this present moment, at THEIR ground?
Good start wouldn't you say?

We are the most competetive we have been in 20 years.
We can still get 2nd in the league.
Who thought that was possible in February?'"
Must admit I had high hopes in February.

Yes we have. We played that well against Wigan (twice) and Leeds (twice) and you at Knowsley Road. One of the gripes of many Saints fans this season is pretty much the only time we have raised our game and played almost as well as we are capable (because we were very lax with covering the ball on Saturday) is against you, Wigan and Leeds. It's meant a goodly number of dull to extremely dull games for Saints fans.
We have a small hoodoo. We can't beat Leeds in Grand Finals but I suppose that doesn't count.
I think what Wire are perhaps suffering from is (a) over-anxiety: they know the fans want them to win, they know they want to win, and they lose the plot slightly as a result (they don't bottle it; they over-egg the pudding) and/or (b) you play a very similar style of rugby to Saints but we tend towards the middle while you tend towards the edges. To counteract us your players need to be more aware of the danger down the middle. Alternatively, just kick to Meli. That usually works!

| Quote: worthing wire "Spurs failed to beat Chelsea in league games between the two from 1990 to 2006.'" Aye, but spurs turned them over when it really mattered in the Carling Cup final at wembley. Personally, i want it to be saints if we make the final and i even wanted them last year. Just 1 win in a final will hurt them more than any of these league matches have hurt us. Bring on the 28th of August!!

| Atleast this time we was creating the chances to win in the last 10 minutes instead of hanging on to a win and then saints scoring or being behind and looking toothless in attack. You can't fault benny for his miss hes been kicking really well and did not have the bottle to kick it and messed up his technique.
In the world of "if only" if only he kicked it then we would have easily kicked a drop goal in that match as we played most of the last 10 minutes in their half.
That match was the first match i have actually felt like crying after it but oh well.
We will beat them when it matters in a final we still have that to cling on to haha

Could'nt agree more mate, you could see it all over their play they were trying to hard hence the passes going astray, wrong decissions ive seen all teams do it at some point. The players are feeling what we are they were gutted at the end of the game.
I really enjoyed the game and we lost, as someone said above, we are second in the league and in a cup semi final, i am enjoying following the wire more than i have in the last 30 years because i think this is not just a one off season as Huddersfield last year its the start of something good but we will have our disappointments every season, however, we have a team that wants to play and entertain, and a coach that is more than capable of bringing that long term success. Loving it

| If you would of offered me second place and a semi final in the Challenge Cup Pre Season I would of grabbed your hand off. It's a massive improvement. 10th to 2nd in a season. ISWT.

what like Bradford, one of the most succesful clubs in the superleague era
this year beaten twice in the league and once in the cup..
it always used to be "we cant beat anyone above us in the table" well guess what the One club above us we have outplayed on two occasions narrowly losing at the start of the season and winning easily a few weeks ago.....
you dont deserve a club with a hint of success with an attitude like that

| Agreed. When I think of some of the crap I have had to endure on the terraces over the last thirty years I am now thanking my lucky stars that we now have a credible team and club.

I'm very happy how we've improved, the coach is a gem and it's a pleasure to watch warrington. Is it so terrible to acknowledge that we still have room for improvement? Champions, without exception are always disappointed at not being the best, always looking to improve, that's why they are champions.

Spot on Mark. Warrington haven't been in a decent position on and off the pitch since the time of AJ Murphy.
Our improvement is down to all at the HJ not just TS and the players. When you think of where we were in '02 and compare it to now its a staggering change. Even if we win nothing this year I'll still think of this season as being a huge step forward while playing some great rugby.

| Our record against Saints is beyond ridiculous now. There was clearly a mental and not a physical block on Saturday. What's more amazing is that it affects everyone, even the new players.
I keep hearing both sets of players saying they dont talk about the record. That is obviously complete .
