| only two players i have seen donning the primrose and blue were able to go out on a saturday night, get completely p*$$ed, so as they didn't even know what planet they were on, let alone what team they were to playing for the next day, and play a blinder were kelly shelford and richard henare.

| Henare was a poor man's Graham Appo. Great for one season, when he was in shape, and was one of the quickest players around, but came back for the next season out of shape and disinterested.
Henare managed to get himself sacked halfway through his second season, where Appo lasted another two seasons so Henare still retained a cult following where Appo didn't.
If Henare had been SL standard when he was sacked by us he wouldn't have ended up playing for Swinton and Chorley.

| I can remember a lot of days when Shelford was rubbish and same with Henare, so I presume those were the "mornings after" that rubber duckie is referring to

| Henare was an exciting player without doubt and left us with some great try scoring memories. However what a balloon he was off the pitch.

That hardly makes him well hard does it, Tomlinson was a small halfback, would he have gone for Sonny Nickle, I doubt it.
Yes Henare punched Tomlinson once and he beat his girlfriend up but would you fancy him in the ring against Drummond, Cullen or Nat Wood?
