Tony Smith is very loyal to his players expecting the same in return, some may say he's too loyal, if anything you get the feeling he doesn't know the best time to release players, non the less he's not prone to outbursts of petulance and treats all his players as though they are one of the family, I feel he took the Higham matter personally as he did Rowley's comment, which shows he has all his players welfare at heart be it they stay or leave.

Comments in this weeks league express, sounds like smith has took this personally as he went to bat for mickey at his last contract, the club wanted to offer him 12 months and smith persuaded them to give him two. So obviously having done him a solid(for mickey and his young family) he's been let down by mickey this time around.

Two years ago a 1 year offer to Higham would have seen you without your best 9 in 2014.
