| So unlucky for Max Wood to get injured today - I think he was playing himself into a bench spot for next week before that happened. Unlucky for the team too, as Wood dropping the ball when he got injured was the point at which the momentum of the game shifted.

| Thought many on the team had great games.
Bullock had his best game for a long time and led from the front. He was my mom.
But lots of other good performances.
Powell had a very good game as did Drinky.
Holroyd was immense in defence and none of the debutants let us down. Shouldn't get over excited as it's one game but certainly promising.
BUT Wrench was very out of sorts and Tai had a mixed bag.
Musgrove was not good in the 1st half but better in the 2nd.
On that showing Bullock would be in the 17. He really tore into Wigan.
Keirans red card - very bad tackle. Red fully deserved, but I'm not holding my breath with the disciplinary hearing. They'll cite he was falling etc. It should be a ban of some sort but....
Re the Dupree 'head butt' - no, even though there appeared to be a clash of heads I believe Dupree was moving forward getting up and there was a lot of messing about at the ptb without a deliberate head butt. I appreciate others may disagree.
In a perverse way, my view is that even though we lost and there is a feel good factor and high confidence in the squad, Matty Peet will use this as a wake up call for his team and it could still work out in their favour. He'll undoubtedly be reminding them that they need to respect the ball more and they'll go jntk tne final wanting to put things right.

| I think there have been some excellent posts here although the website will not allow me to respond to any of them. First of all, I must congratulate the Warrington team on their fine effort, there were some outstanding performances. Secondly, I agree with Fez, Keighran will receive a ban but there was nothing in the Dupree/Powell incident. I think the focus has now shifted away from Wigan and onto Warrington. The consensus on social media is that Wigan’s race is over and it definitely isn’t. I think we are in for a great showdown next week and the team that completes high will win the game. The forwards will determine who gets the spoils. If everything goes according to plan then my mate Williams will lift the Lance Todd trophy and Wigan the Challenge Cup.

| I thought the Dupree incident could have been avoided, he knew what he was doing as do all players amateur or professional, I don’t make the calls on Tuesday but there will be some twitchy bottoms leading up to it, regarding the game Warrington were outstanding in all areas and deserved to get something out of it, only one coach will be happy tonight

| The young lads did great & deserve nothing but praise , unfortunately, some poor decisions & poor executions in our more experienced engine room failed to win the game today. Otherwise ,what a game & looking forward to Wembley. Let's hope it really is a spectacle of rugby league.

| Can we take this as a Shaun Wane style
'Moral Victory' ?
Brilliant display from the young lads,
They're a credit to the club, coaches and their families.

Personally, I don’t see any issues outside the Keighran incident but who knows when the out of touch MRP get involved. Maybe the favourites tag has now switched?

| I'd be surprised if Dupree doesn't get a ban. Watched it a few times now. Just before the drop goal. Looked deliberate & of course if spotted at the time it would have cancelled out the drop goal.

| Keighran will get a ban, Dupree ‘may’ get a ban….not sure either will hinder Wigan too much. Drinkwater could be likely to cop a ban which would REALLY knacker us.

| What about the late hit on the passer. Williams got a ban for that.

| I had a nagging familiarity about this game and couldn’t work out why. I think it’s because Wigan & Saints have put this kind of performance on us so often, us close to full strength, them full of kids, and the kids almost or sometimes pulling it off. Great to see a Wire side doing that. I don’t know if that’s a Burgess effect or a good academy side coming of age - probably a lot of both, but shows the importance focusing on youth.
Well done Wire. Buzzing for Wembley, let’s not kid ourselves, we go in as underdogs, but we were in that position in 2019 and put in the best performance in years to pull it off. I know now this team will never let us down in terms of effort and with Williams & Dufty we can cause problems - it’s a nice place to be.

| Musgrove as per usual, bang average and disappointing and shys away from work quite alot.
Bullock definately played his way on to the bench for wembley, he has the ability to play like that all the time but just doesn't.
Max Wood i'm gutted for as he was playing really well until his injury, him and bullock are better than Musgrove.
Halroyd had a good solid game, like someone said i just hope he can put a little bit more size on.
All the youngsters did really well and i'm absolutely buzzing with them all.
Yeah if Keighran doesn't get a ban it will be absolutely shocking.
Dupree i completely missed that incident, i feel he'll get away with that though.
All in all we'll be really confident going in to next week

| Redvee style “Drinkwater banned, Dupree slap on the wrist, Keighran a bit of a talking to and £5 from the poor box”.
I t actually think Keighran will be the only ban.

This. Exactly the same thoughts i had. Years gone by we would have been mauled by Wigan with that many first teamers missing. How times have changed. Thankfully, for us , for the better.

| That was a terrific performance and great effort shown all round. Most pleasing part was that we didn't buckle in the second half, and we didn't concede any soft tries. Burgess should be happier than Peet, after yesterday, as he's got a win from handing debuts out who didn't look out of place, and has our strike players fresh and free of the disciplinary panel for Saturday. Underdogs is fine, it's just a label that doesn't stop me being quietly confident about the final, as were shaping up to be a very competitive team.
