Possibly the opposite of a hero but once went to a BBQ with Idi Amin. Seen a few posts about how much of a great bloke Matt King is in person and I must say I agree 100%. In Perpignan in 2010, we went to the beach at Canet and the players had just arrived in France and were having a kick about on the beach. Their were a few Wire fans on the beach at the time and to be fair to the team, all of them stopped for pictures if asked but Kingy was different, we asked him for a picture and then couldn't get rid of him as he started a full on conversation. Great bloke, great player and a lot of respect for the guy.

Eammon Holmes and Ruth were at my mates wedding last week in London.
