| Why is the assumption that the people who didn't go are all band wagon jumpers? I have been picking and choosing my games this year for the first time ever and I have supported for forty years.
Just don't feel the same connection anymore and I don't fully believe in the play-offs. All seems a bit soulless. I saw more passion on display earlier in the day at the NWC 13-15s finals day (incidentally two Warrington winners, Latchford at U14s and Bank Quay at U15s).
It does confuse me though why ST holders turn up week in week out just to end up missing what (for better or worse) is supposed to be the point of it all.
Mind I will still be going next Saturday.

| I disagree finances do make a difference and definitely have an impact, I think a lot of people had an eye on next week when they have to travel to the game and all of those expenses that go along with it, and whilst it is great that some people don’t have to worry financially, some of us do even if we do earn a reasonable wage this weekend was uni start weekend and dropping of 2 daughters, supplying food and paying for accommodation I for one certainly didn’t have the spare cash to go and see a game that was on sky even though I was 3/4 the way there from Norfolk, I would have loved to have gone, if the prices had been dropped it may well have made a difference to my decision as even £10 less a ticket would have offset the extra petrol cost and helped changed my mind.

| I know people don't like me bringing football into it, but a fair few Wire fans also attend football fixtures of our fairly local clubs. Between pay day last week and pay day on 15th Oct I could have possibly nine games in rugby and footy to attend: Saints last week, Hull last night, Saints next week, possible Grand Final; City today, Tuesday, Saturday, the Wednesday after and the morning of the Grand Final.
I'm 30 and single with no kids, so I'll be at most of those games (wont get a ticket for Saints away and wont be able to afford Fulham away) as the cost on each day will just be for me but even so I'll be spending most of my money on sport in this pay period. That's not the same for many fans as loads take a kid, a few kids or the whole family to games.
We've also just had one pay day to recoup from anyone going on a Summer holiday, we've just had Wembley (costs a bomb!) and Old Trafford IF we get there coming up (will cost slightly less than a bomb!).
Plus the biggest thing I take from the whole thing; the apathy towards the Play-offs across the whole of the Super League (every game so far has been poorly attended - I mentioned figures earlier in the thread).
But even so, there were about 5000 at the Bradford Challenge Cup Fourth Round game back in April. There were 7000 there for what is essentially a quarter final last night. There were 11000 at Catalan for our CC Quarter Final with them back in May and 11000 there the other night against Leeds. We're the only team to have played at home twice and Wigan only got 7000 last week. Do the numbers not stack up about right?
More people attend with season tickets as the price of the games averages out to a fairly low price overall and many save up for those over the twelve months between paying. Many would never attend games they have to pay extra for. That'll be evident at City on Tuesday in the League Cup too.
I think we're being a little hard on ourselves over last night's attendance.

| This is not a dig at Warrington fans, certainly not the ones who turned out last night, more a dig at the part time RL fans in general.
I am a season ticket holder at Hull. I live in west Yorkshire so I have a 130 mile round trip to home games. Clearly by my location many away games are closer for me to get to. This season I have been to 21 games. Other than the games at London and catalans I missed games due to either holiday, work commitments or sky changes clashing with other arrangements.
Even if a fan attended all home games in SL, that would be only 13 fixtures. If a fan can afford a season ticket 10 months earlier, I find it odd they couldn't budget for a few extra games (which for your team you have to anticipate) in the play offs.
Now think back to when Wire were in either the the Regal trophy final or the
lancashire cup final, how many games were played.
RL, in my opinion is a far better sporting spectacle than football. I am not a football hater like some RL fans. But why is it that top flight football stadia are packed to the rafters despite the price being twice that of RL games for just about double the number of games?
Fact is, for many, RL is an after thought rather than their passion.

With all due respect, travel costs from Warrington to st Helens will be minimal. You would only have had an eye on next week if you got passed Hull, which before kick off some had doubts about. Meaning this could have Been your last game of the season. Or were some so dead sure you would win last night?

| unfortunately i have to pick the games i go to and i have been watching since i was 3 but shifts meant that i cant make every game also the last year i have been a house hubby with the wife working shifts so have had 3 kids to look after. i have not had a season ticket because on average i could only make about 10 games a year, however this is changing next year and new job means new rota of mon - fri 8:30 - 5 so i will get a st for next season.
anyway i have no idea what that rant was about other than just because some people dont turn up does not mean they are not real fans.
Ps - i actually made it last night and thought it was a cracking game

| First home game missed this season by myself and my 2 sons, but the eldest started at Uni in the Midlands yesterday afternoon so we couldn't attend.
I feel dirty having seen the lack of support and not attending myself, compelled by the disgusting sight of a family of fat people sat in our seats at the back of the East. I'm going to scrub myself with a wire brush & dettol now.

Why the hell should you be bothered over something that you have no control over with?Obvioulsy by the sounds of you your very irate hence the yet another dig at the fans who didn't go for whatever reason.Imo this constant dig at fans who have the free choice to attend is becoming boring to say the least. Why don't you write to the RL to say they missed a great opportunity to slash prices.A major overhaul is what's needed for the playoffs not thread after thread about so called glory hunters.Rant over.

| Alarm bells should be ringing loud and clear at the RFL.
Challenge Cup attendances down
Play-off attendances down and standard of matches dramatically down (all teams)
Coaches openly giving the vibe they don't mind losing the odd league game as long as they get top-4 / 2
Ridiculous club-call system hated by fans & coaches alike
International game dead in the water
Really do worry about the future of this wonderful sport sometimes (but then, as you may have gathered I'm a mozza fan so I do worrying rather well!!!).

I think that is the crux of the matter. As a supporter You know the games will be televised so maybe the RFL should reward the loyalty of the fans attending during the season by having discounted tickets? Just a thought.

| If they can't do playoff games as part of the season ticket at least stick vouchers in there at say 70% discount.
I know clubs are not going to promote the games due to the money being shared out with all the other clubs but hey 30% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

| [iHonestly[/i not being able to afford a ticket is the only excuse I accept. I know regular supporters who decided to watch the game in the pub last night. Their choice but they also can't complain should this apathy have a adverse effect on the game. Funny how Saints & Wakefield fans last week, and Hull fans last night could afford to go....

| I've had a season ticket this season, and tbh, it's been a waste of money- quality-wise. I've only missed 1 league game- could'nt be bothered, and missed both play-off games due to other commitments.
But, the overall lack of quality is all over Superleague this season. Qualitywise, it has been dreadful. I've had more enjoyment watching the lower league games, indeed, the 2 best televised games have been in the lower leagues.
The cost does come into the equation regarding attendances for the play-offs, but not as much as the quality you are watching compared to the cost. I will not be renewing my season ticket next year, but I will be picking the games I go to, and will be watching more RL elsewhere, wether it be Wigan, Rochdale or whoever in the NW, depends which games look more attractive.
