The fans are confident with good reason. Wire have for two seasons now dominated their nearest rivals and we UNLUCKY to get knocked out the playoffs last year. On a side note, boy, would I hate to shell out a lot of good money to watch a fifth place dry bum the team I support at Old Trafford.

If Saints had Cunningham, Long, Graham, Pryce, Sculthorpe etc playing, then I'd be very worried, but in reality they now have a side in which only ONE of their players would make our team and make us any better.

Yes, they have competent players, but apart from Roby they have nobody who should overly worry us - Of course its sport and they have a sporting chance, but it will take us having an off day for it to happen....Wire at their best, will beat Saints (and any other side in the league).

We have already won at the HJ this season and can do it again. Although we know what a big big task it will be.

With 9 GF's and 4 wins we know how to get to Old Trafford...unlike one or two other clubs.

9 grand finals is a tremendous record but losing the last 5 is not a record i would want..saints on there day can beat anyone but like a previous poster said without long cunningham etc they are no longer a team to worry about.looking forward to it next week and just hope the play off games are exciting and not a damp squib like some have been..

Would Wire fans list who they would prefer in week 3 if they got club call 1-7. Obviously if you got club call then you could not pick Catalan, but I'll let that slide.

From a Saints point of view if we got club call (which is possible but unlikely)

1. Giants, 2. Wakey, 3. Hull, 4. Rhino's, 5. Wigan, 6. Wire, 7. Catalan

Too many ifs and buts to be able to take the question 100% seriously, but if we were to beat Saints convincingly next week and Saints were one of the 2 choices at clubcall, then it would be obvious to take on Saints again, because of the psychological advantage.

You would honestly prefer to play ourselves at your place ahead of Catalan?

In answer to the question though I would simply go off the league finishing position, ie Wakey, Hudds, Hull, Leeds/Catalan, Catalan/Leeds, Saints, Wigan.

I most certainly would, for a combination of reasons. Although Warrington beat Saints at Langtree park the reverse fixture showed that we can beat Wire also.

If we are not playing Catalans in the semi, then that means Catalan would more than likely be playing Wigan or Wire. Which would mean it could be possible to not have to play another derby if we got through to a final.

I think Catalan are a team that can turn it on and burn almost anyone on their day.

I've forgot the exact wins for Saints against wire since super League began , but it's
about 30 - 5 for Saints .
I just know we will turn you over again this Saturday , you just cannot get the

On a more relevant note, in the last four meetings, its 3-1 to Wire, and in the last 4 seasons, it presently stands Wire 3 trophies, Saints fook all, so if we are trying to indulge in some sort of psychological claptrap, then have that one!!...

Yes, Saints once had a top class team, which was often too good and powerful for Wire, but your present side is an absolute shadow of that side, so your statisitics are totally irrelevent to this Saturday.
