| Quote: Ian 77 Redux "Agreed - I heard a ripple of 'we're not winky anymore' on Saturday which I thought was a nice touch.'"
On further reflection it does sort of imply a self-acknowledgement of our previous winkyness though. Something that, at the time, we robustly defended in the main, most usually by means of two finger salutes, jeering, or the winky sign fashioned by looping ones thumb and index finger in a rythmic gesture in the direction of the offenders.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

Agreed - although I don't think that's a bad thing. If we win more things than we're all going to get tarred with the 'where were you when you were [rubbish]' brush anyway, may as well get tarred as self depricating as well.

LOL. I've always taken the "'where were you when you were rubbish" as a delicious, un-intended compliment. It is also ironic in the true sense.

Reminds me of the "Central park is falling down, falling down, falling down, build it up with pie and peas, poor old wigan" chants of the 80's until they screwed us in so many semi-finals and finals and the joke was on us.

Exactly. They could sing much worse about John Clarke, so no need to go down that road with the chanting.

| blur - charmless man
He face is always full of gloom
he scores and there's impending doom
we signed him up and so began
the story of the Monaghan
We signed him from the Man-l-y
At number 7 is were he thought he'd play
he left the fans in disarray
because nature didn't make that way
