Yes it seems to be a quota thing with Big Thomas.
It could have been we had been eyeing up much earlier Yates and we kept Drinky another season. Duffy looked to be out of the door after 2023, then after Burgess got the job, he insisted Dufty played even though Burgess was still in Aus…so that left us capped up with Vaughany and Musgrove.
I think we left him in limbo, then he took up a position at the Cowboys but in their feeder club.
For sure he hasn’t played this season for Cowboys anyhow.
Not sure he offers a great deal more than Musgrove or Max Wood can though other than depth.
I’d like him back, but is he worth a quota spot and would it be a significant improvement on Musgrove to unsettle the squad?

I agree Duckie. Mikaele was a decent player for us but I don't think he offers an improvement on Philbin, Musgrove or Wood off the bench. So I don't see the point.

He joined midway through 2022 on a 2.5 year deal, left spring 2023 on compassionate grounds (new baby), then came back a few months later and it was planned for him to be with us for 2024 but that never happened.
I seem to recall he made an impact for us. But I can't recall all the detail of the comings and goings. Can anyone remind me? Was it a falling out with Powell?
He left because NRL clubs wanted him and he could get a deal. He cited 'homesickness' as the reason. Then when the Titans realised he wasn't good enough and couldn't get a game for them he decided to come back despite being 'homesick'. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole personally. |

Reading some rumours on FB that Wigan are after Vaughan.
Heard a while back that he didn`t fit in with Sam`s plans. He is still playing well and is our current best prop forward IMO. It was inevitable that another Super League club would sign him, given the way he is playing. |
