So we acquire a young but experienced NRL first-grade prop forward twenty-two weeks before the start of the 2016 season and this is a 'panic buy'? If the club can tempt him over with just a one year deal that's shrewd business. If he plays to your expectations then he'll be gone in a flash to make room for, I suppose you'd say, a less panicky buy for 2017. There's no pleasing some 'supporters'.

Very little risk in a one year contract. There does seem to be a dearth of quality available props and it is one position that is problematic at Academy level. Hopefully the new U23s competition will help with this by allowing players to mature into that position and to maybe give a few amateur players a chance to impress.

Agreed, I'd say at least three quarters of people on here know nothing about him but just rehash tripe that they see elsewhere on here.

The club should be applauded for offering contracts that mean the player has to prove their worth especially considering certain other signings of recent times.

I too get totally ed of with the constant negativity from certain spoilt fans. Duck off and support Leeds. By the way, Dodds (unless injured) has always been in the Broncos 1st 17 where the successful prop named Garbutt at a Leeds was very rarely in there.

Hey Gary no it's just the suddenness of signing him. Someone mentioned we enquired about him 3 months ago which I hadn't heard. First I heard was he got told about a week ago he was unwanted and the the Akuma signing fell through and we suddenly sign him. It just looked like a panic buy. I hope he is the answer we're looking for I was just really excited for Akuma coming to us as I think he would be amazing for us........so I spat my dummy out and threw a paddy.

The Aussies are laughing at us on Twitter for having Dodds, Sandow, Gidley, and Sims in the same side. I think "prone to the odd error' is polite. We shall see.

Sandow has signed a 2 1/2 year contract till the end of 2017.

He's on a 2 year deal, I very highly doubt we'll end up getting Cronk I would rather us develop a British player. I've always had high hopes for o'brien but he doesn't seem to have developed a great deal, still a good player though I still like him. Maybe Patton will get a bit more game time next year?

I believe it to he a 1 year deal at £243,000 approx plus an option, at that sort of contract fee, 1 year sounds sensible, I'd be very nervous about risk over 2 years.
