| I agree with comments for Chapleford Farm, average food.
Best food in town has to be Choy Hing Village on Knutsford Road, Grappenhall. Best chinese for miles, although the one in Bold Heath (Maplewood) comes a close second.

| Spirit in Victoria Park is a stunning location for a special meal, although a little pricey depending what you want.
Grill on the Square for quality and cost by far the best restaurant in Warrington.
Manchester - San Carlo is great, but for a special fine dining treat try Michael Caines at Abode hotel which is about 200 yards from Piccadilly station... Fabulous
For a real wow factor, try vermillion and cinnabar in Manchester, but not city centre. It's a Thai restaurant but the decor is amazing and so opulent.

| What's the London Bridge like for food?
We're having our works Christmas do on a Thursday and plan to have something to eat in or around Stockton Heath and then have a few beers.
Most of the restaurants there dish up foreign fayre and a I think a couple of our staff would rather have something more traditional. We've been to Tom 101 a few times with work and the only other option I can think of is the London Bridge.

As far as I am aware it is just your standard pub co menu, the usual frozen malarkey. Nothing special, prices between £7-£10 for a main. Tom @ 101 is nice, though expensive. If you want something in between I would suggest the Rams Head in Grappenhall, then jump in a taxi to Stockton Heath afterwards.

We have been to Jamie Oliver's Restaurant on King Street, its the Old Midland Bank and the building is stunning. The toilets in the basement alone are worth a visit (I'm not joking) they are the originals dating back from 1900.
The food was okay and we thought it no better than 7/10, we had 'Jamie's Feast' which costs £15 and you get a starter to share & three main courses but one of the main's was almost cold. We sent it back and got a replacement within a few minutes. If the one dish had been hot then I would score the food better. That said the service was good and the overall ambiance was great.
We paid £60 for 3 course's and 4 glasses of wine, you can book on-line, don't just turn up because they were turning away people who turned up on the off chance

Cheers, that 's what I was thinking. The Rams Head seems to be up and down from month to month. I've been in there and had a really nice meal but when I've been back three months later, the menus changed and the food hasn't been as good.
I've put down The Little Manor and Spirit on the list to my boss as two places that are out of Stockton Heath but near enough to get a lift or taxi to Stockton Heath.

Little Manor has been transformed earlier this year so if you've not been recently, well worth going there.

I haven't ate in there for a while now so couldn't help on that one I am afraid. Such a shame that pubs are forced into adopting these cr@ppy frozen menus by the pub co. The Chat Moss in Glazebury used to do brilliant food and was always filled with diners, Marstons forced their menu on it and you rarely see anyone eat in there now. True with so many other places.

As Wolfman states above, San Carlo is excellent, great food, atmosphere and used by celeb's.
I prefer San Rocco, Back King Street to be honest, great food and a little less frenetic. Don Giovani's across the tram tracks to the side of The Midland Hotel is decent enoughespecially for a lunch or pre 'theatre' meal ie not the main event of the evening
