| Hard to pick holes with Sally's selection. My only alterations would be
Either Solomona or Louis Anderson ahead of Waterhouse. Personal preference, I know, but I never "got" Waterhouse's crash, bang, wallop style of second row rugby
and Daryl Clark over Monaghan, for his dynamism
Two glaring points stand out for me
Hardly any signings from recent seasons. Yes, they'd be big names to replace, but we never have
The selection of Grix. Don't get me wrong. I liked the lad. A good player, but to have him as our top loose in the last decade, highlights our poor recruitment, and my bug bear of having an "auxiliary prop" in a specialist position, which has become rife, in the last decade.
But, as I say, hard to argue with most selections
A fine side

| Hicks in place of Charnley for me.
Louie Anderson in place of Waterhouse.
And yeah i'd pick Ben Harrison over Grix.
All in all though that's an awesome looking team

| Yes I thought I would have forgotten someone and Louis Anderson seems like the obvious omission. I thought he only did one year in the 2010s like Hicks but he was there in our great 2011 season too. I think it's touch and go between him and Waterhouse.
Lefty makes a good point though. Most of those players are from the first part of the decade. If it was a team from 2015 onwards, it would look very different, probably something like:
Ratchford; Charnley, Lineham; Atkins, Goodwin; Austin, Sandow; Hill, Clark, Cooper; Currie, Hughes; Westwood.
Bench: Sims, BMM, Philbin, Gidley
Nowhere near as strong.

No, all three of the second list were better, if we're looking at Hill on 2019 form. If it was Hill in 2012 or 2013, I'd take him ahead of Morley or Carvell.
Solomona was more effective for us than BMM but some of that was due to who he had around him. Both of those guys are game changers that could be frustrating but you don't notice their flaws as much when you're winning easily. If Solomona played in the more recent teams, his work ethic and consistency would be much more under the spotlight. Similar to how perceptions of Kelly Shelford changed dramatically between 1994 and 1997.
BMM would have probably scored a lot in the earlier TS teams but Solomona brought something different so I'd have preferred him at the time.

| Can’t argue with a lot of that team. I’d juggle it around though and put King on a wing and squeeze Bridge in. He was fantastic for us, Monaghan in particular benefited from his creativity time and again.
And Harrison over Grix. I’m a card holding member of the Grix fan club, but Ben Harrison made us tick. His engine was superb.
Scary seeing the decline in talent across the league from the days where we had these players. Players like Hodgson and Monaghan just aren’t in the game anymore, the guile and craft they played with was mesmerising.

| Myler? Goodness me that tells you as much as you need to know about the ragtag collection of playmakers we've had.
For talent, Sandow was streets ahead of the rest including Austin.

| Halfbacks
The first 4 seasons of this decade saw Briers become a Wire legend. For me he's second in our history with only Bevan ahead. What a complete player he was at the back end of his career, he was the best player I've seen at taking a team round the park and being able to dictate the agenda
If you think lee briers is second only to brian bevan in the list of wire legends it probably helps to explain why you lot havent won a championship since old bandaged knees was playing, as for being the best youve ever seen at taking a team round the park , i take you never saw andy gregory, sean long, bobby goulding, kevin sinfield, alex murphy, john woods not too mention a load of aussie halfbacks......you lot really are the gift that keeps giving

SL Champions in RL are soon forgotten...that's how it is...however the gilt of a Challenge Cup win lingers on.
The greater number of people always remember the winners on terrestrial TV.
