| If I was a Swinton player I would jump at the chance to line-up alongside a someone of Paul Wood's stature in the game.

It is a vicious circle really. The board of directors at Swinton only really have one ambition- to get a new ground in the town. Use of the new dual registration system offers the chance to cut costs. Steve McCormack is paid to get results- he can't say no to someone like Paul Wood. Meanwhile a Swinton player misses out on his appearance fee, winning bonus (if any) and game time. I have wrote at length on here about why the system is flawed and destroys the integrity of the Championship, so I won't go into it again.

Even if it meant you weren't actually playing that week?

Do the maths, they don't get special dispensation to have an extra man on the field!

4 of Swintons playing squad recently moved to Australia for a RL playing holiday, quite possibly as a result of this system , they are looking to play PT over there

| As a Swinton fan i am pleased as punch to see someone like wood turning out for us. If it upsets the current squad then you have to question their mental attitude as i dont want Swinton to be seen as easy money for average players.
Lets face it if people were really bothered about the state of the game then P and R would be brought back. As it stands nobody cares about the lower leagues, unless they support a team in them. We are just playing the system.
Anyway whats the chances of lending us Moz and Briers for the end of the season playoff games.

Keep banging away as far as I am concerned as I completely agree. And the rules for this system are being made up as they go along. The most recent are that there will be a notional cap value for all S L players who play in the Championship ( set below their actual value) to ensure the CC clubs don't exceed their own cap in the year.
There are no less than 9 Wire players in the Swinton 19. How demoralising is that for a Swinton supporter ?, or player for that matter. Widnes have DR'd their entire squad with Workington, but I am assuming that there will still be a max of 5 players that are allowed to actually play.
Since Currie and Saltonstall have not been named, I assume they will be in the U19 game vs Cas tomorrow.

| I don't see why this is seen as such a disaster. Works well in Aus, players playing Toyota Cup while waiting in the wings of the first team. Keeps players fit, gives them a chance to prove themselves, more interest in the Swinton games getting more people in... everyone's a winner. Swinton should do the same with their lesser members of the squad and lend them to a conference club

So these ' lesser ' players , they earn how much for not playing for Swinton ?

I can see myself going to watch a few Swinton games this year. Why not? But my point is, if your a Swinton fan debating wether or not to go to the game and you hear that Paul wood and Tyrone McCarthy are turning out fot you you'd be more inclined to go.

That is an agreement that needs to be made by The RFL, while they are not paying 9 of the 19 in there squad this week, the money can go somewhere. Maybe instead of pay as you play deals, they should get contracted with a salary from Swinton.

As a Warrington fan who also goes and watches Leigh quite a lot, I would say it has the opposite effect.
