But after a game like that, where there were absolutely tons of dubious tackling techniques on display, split 50:50 for each side, where there were zero serious incidents, zero yellow and zero red cards is it really on that LMS gets pulled? If they wanted a fallguy, why not Eastmond? His high shot was far more obvious that whatever it is LMS is being banned for.

But he was pulled up for that in the game, they probably thought, penalty sufficient.

So a penalty against Eastmond equates to the 1 or 2 match ban LMS will get? Would be fitting RFL logic that.

The whole system is being used wrongly. They are looking for reasons to ban players rather than using the review system to highlight serious incidents missed by the on field officials. So if LMS had done what Newton did to Long and the ref missed it, fine, pick it up. But why are there so many bans this season that no one has a clue about? The Perry ban recently was farcical. He had a stand up fight with another player. Both swung and missed like two drunk fools, zero punches landed and the ref laughed about it. He gets banned and his dualist didn't. Same with Tuson against Saints, banned for nothing at all.

Although it ended up high, the initial contact was with shoulder according to RFL so he got away with it.

It's fair enough I think, more than fair.

Maybe Rich' would have pulled LMS for it in the game but he was frightened for his life after the honey monster yelled 'Faaaaaark Off ....' at him in the early exchanges, so the RFL have dealt with it afterwards.

Oh well, gives Saddened another selection 'crisis' to talk of this week.

It's a case of the disiplinary commitee having to justify their exsistence me thinks.

Opps no one cited by the ref,s quick charge some one with something before we are reduced in numbers.

Moore ban a joke
Tuson ban a joke
This will be a joke too.
I've not kept track on them all but there have been a fair few call ups for incidents that have been much ado about nothing this year.

Will be interesting to see this years discipline record SL wide compared to last year. and how that has lead to more minor incidents leading to bans.

If we banned everyone for high shots, then we'd have no matches next weekend.

The frustrating aspect is that they don't pick up on the more serious incidents. It'll be interesting to see how Saints defend this charge. I'd be tempted (By a shotgun a026.gif ) to go in with as many counter claims as possible and show how each of them are comparable and demand sense. Grade B is an automatic ban, given its a Saints player so why not? Or prepare fully and come up with a whole catalogue of inconsistencies, like Perry being banned for an air punch and Joel Tomkins being allowed to wade in throwing punches everytime someone tries to 'do' his brother. He's done that several times this season.

One does wonder though if he's been cited by Warrington. Smith's comments about Graham controlling the game and intimidating his side were classic mind control comments and no doubt he'll get sent off next time he questions a decision as well.

Maybe it's the one where Mozz got poked in the eye, which was the reason he never came back on .

I have some sympathy for you on the LMS thing, I'll have a look at it later and maybe it does merit the charge, but there's certainly scope for more than he to have been called before the RFL, so from a pure consistancy prospective I see why you're up in arms.

Just on the Graham thing, I'd like to see him sin binned every time he does that. (the screaming at the ref). I felt Smith was right to highlight it. We get a lot of praise from non RL followers for our respect of officials, more respect than the sort of 'actual game' gets, and to my knowledge there is only he in SL who consistantly and with such aggression reacts like that to referees, I would sin bin him for it, no doubt. I think all SL referees are extremely leniant towards him.

This.

Smith came across as a righty whiny weesel in that interview. Andy Wilson does a good piece on it in League Weekly. Bless, his poor little boys lost control of the game thanks to that Real Man who is James Graham, who intimidated the ref into giving all those penalties to Saints!

Going in like that with a name like Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook, he's more likely to get the hunting ban overturned.
