Apparently beer got thrown outside the bus windows and when they pulled into services police turned up and taken all the alcahol

An empty can was thrown out by some young lad and the bus was pulled over at Birch services. Approx 3 cases were "confiscated" by the police however approx 15 cases were allowed to stay on!

Police quoted as saying "That due to the bus going to a designated sporting event no alcohol was allowed on the bus" This was challenged by a few on the bus to be the law applying to football only. After hearing this confirmed by there superintendant, the motorway police, to keep face allowed the bus to continue with the 15 or so cases still on board.

There is more but can't be d to write anymore!

Should have guessed my mate was elaborating haha that story doesn't sound as good. Was it just one police car? as the bus was apparently "surrounded" by 3 cars haha

Was 4 or 5 cop cars with one of them parked up in front of the bus so there could be no "getaway"

Hope this doesn't reflect badly on the driver as I know him well and he is one of the best guys going. Tbh I don't see what WBT are going to do, cans get thrown off school buses every day and it's a nice little earner for them so they're not going to knock it back in the future.

You say a nice little earner but prices I've been quoted by them in the past have been good for me but make me wonder that there can't be that much of a margin involved. And based on this, if they believe they're getting hassle they'll just stop it - or at least I would for the sake of one job every 2 weeks!

i did point out to the organiser he should be on top of behaviour like this and nip it in the bud right away, as you say its not the drivers fault just one idiot spoiling it for the rest as usual

WBT [imay[/i invite the driver to a disciplinary meeting on the grounds of gross misconduct due to the fact that it [imay[/i be viewed that he bought WBT into disrepute.

They could, however as someone who knows a lot more than most about WBT I can pretty much guarantee that won't happen, as I said stuff gets thrown out of school buses every day of the week. The bus driver's job is to drive the bus from A to B and back, not to supervise a double decker bus full of grown men. Private Hire work is given to the top drivers and they aren't going to punish someone becuase a can went out of the window, simple as that. Plus there is no CCTV on the bus which was used on Sunday, so they would have nothing on him.

The organiser is on top of everything this is the 1st time there has ever been an incident like this and I go on all the funbus away games. People who run trips where there are teens throwing up all the way home and there bus smells of vomit should nip that in the bud!!! By the way the driver is fine and not in any trouble and the funbus is running as usual!!!

good to hear would be a shame for something to be spoilt by one individual and it certainly doesnt happen on mine either
